80s Singer Kim Wilde Allgedly Tipsy While Singing On The London Subway


Kim Wilde was a highly popular singers during the 1980s before she announced she was retiring from the entertainment industry and engaging in a career as a landscape gardener. Since her shocking announcement in 1998, Wilde has largely been out of public view.

The “Kids In America” singer was allegedly a bit tipsy when she belted out one of her hit songs during a subway ride in London on earlier this week. Kim Wilde, 52, was adorned with a glitter reindeer ears and supposedly disheveled hair. The pop singer was accompanied by brother Ricky Wilde on guitar, according to Radar Online.

After enjoying her response from the London subway audience, the “Keep Me Hanging On” songstress let the holiday spirit flow through her as attempted to sing a Christmas tune, the Daily Mail reports. Subway passenger Katherine Eames captured Kim Wilde’s comeback and posted the unique footage on YouTube. Eames had this to say when describing the video:

“After a truly rubbish day, I got on the train home and couldn’t get a seat, a man pulled out his guitar ‘Oh here we go,’ I thought. Then a drunken woman starts singing. Hang on a minute, I know that voice?! It really was Kim Wilde! This totally made my day. Thank you. She is an absolute legend!”

The Kim Wilde subway singing video went viral quickly on Friday morning. The popular 80s singer was trending on Twitter, a social networking device which did not even exist when she hang up her microphone. Wilde was reportedly returning from a Magic FM radio station Christmas party. A spokesman for Wilde noted that she giggled about the entire event and was overwhelmed by the reaction that she garnered on Twitter.
