Irish Mother Of Twins Spoofs Beyonce’s Sir Carter And Rumi Photoshoot, Goes Viral [Photo]
An Irish mother’s hilarious spoof of Beyonce’s baby photoshoot has gone viral online.
After Beyonce shared a photo on Friday showing her holding her twins, Sir Carter and Rumi, a month after they were born, Sharon Kellaway of Cork, Ireland, also decided to have a floral photoshoot of her own to celebrate her adorable twins, a boy and a girl, born in February.
While Beyonce’s photo unveiling her twin babies, Sir Carter and Rumi, was taken by a professional photographer, Sharon’s photograph was snapped by her 6-year-old daughter, Megan. The photo was snapped against the backdrop of a flower bed in the backyard garden of her home in Cork. Sharon appears in the photo draped in a pink fleece blanket and a veil over her hair as she balances her adorable 5-month-old twins, Senan and Zoe, on a leg. She enhances the hilarity of the photoshoot with a pair of Converse sneakers.
Sharon’s hilarious parody of Beyonce’s photo went viral immediately after a friend posted it to social media on Friday, hours after Beyonce’s photoshoot went viral on Twitter, the Daily Mail reported.
Sharon from Kilworth in Cork later explained that she could not resist the urge to parody Beyonce’s photoshoot after she saw it on social media because it “looked so unrealistic.”

“I just wanted to take the mickey as she looked so unrealistic,” she said, according to the Independent. “It’s a far cry from the lovely reality of a real bond with twins.”
The effectiveness of Sharon’s hilarious spoof is derived from its realistic portrayal of maternity. It contrasts sharply with Beyonce’s self-consciously elaborate photoshoot which some have criticized as a portrayal of Beyonce’s narcissistic preoccupation with herself rather the reality of maternity, a remarkable but commonplace condition that millions of other women have gone through.

“Surrounded by a wall of ornate flowers, and with the ocean stretched out behind her, Beyonce looks positively ethereal.”
Sharon’s comment also reflected the purpose of parodying the affected and stagy airs of the celebrity’s photoshoot.
“I had a few spare minutes yesterday when I saw Beyonce photo online,” She told the Mirror. “When my 6-year-old came in, I grabbed a veil from her dress up box and a pink baby blanket and she snapped the shot. I sent it to my friend Sinead in Canada, who said post it.”
“I wonder how many photos Beyonce had to get through to get the right one. My 6-year-old took the photos… no qualifications and still did a mighty job.”
The photo went viral after her Canadian friend, Sinead, shared it on Twitter.
“Fair play. Hilarious. Gave everyone a laugh today.
“Sharon that is the funniest thing I have seen!”
“It was just random. I have the twins, the blanket and the veil, a few home-grown flowers in the garden,” she told the Mirror. “I had what she had, so why not? Thought my friends would get a giggle… didn’t expect it to go this far!”
