Experts Think Roman Reigns Must Lose The Winner-Take-All Showdown, Not Wrestle Brock Lesnar: Are They Right?

It seems like we don’t know what the WWE wants next for and from Roman Reigns. The Monday Night Raw superstar, who is currently rumored to be up for the Universal title when he goes up against Brock Lesnar, is next set to go up against Samoa Joe to see if he really will face off against The Beast.

However, according to some wrestling experts, Roman Reigns has no business winning against fan-favorite Samoa Joe and should instead lose the upcoming winner-take-all showdown.

Bleacher Report put forth this shocking suggestion after pointing out that Samoa Joe — who has now transitioned into the WWE spotlight — shouldn’t be felled by Roman Reigns and now, perhaps, should be the No. 1 contender for the Universal title.

What’s more, because Roman Reigns has such a great rivalry with Braun Strowman (remember the ambulance incident?), to stop it now would be a grave mistake.

“For SummerSlam to be a success, there has to be a stacked card from start to finish. It wouldn’t be a big pay-per-view otherwise. And after what happened at Great Balls of Fire, moving Reigns away from Braun Strowman would be a grave mistake. There are strong supporting arguments for both men getting the shot, but when everything—including WWE’s plans beyond Lesnar—is examined, Joe is the obvious man to win the match.”

There’s also some talk about Roman Reigns beginning a heel turn — something that, according to Sportskeeda, Stone Cold Steve Austin doesn’t think is a good idea.

The outlet reports that the legendary wrestler shared his opinion on his self-titled show, and he feels that a heel turn would be a bad look for Reigns because of the way he’s currently being positioned.

“I think you keep him on the road that he’s on and you don’t turn him heel just for the sake of turning him heel to make the fans happy because you’re not pushing him anymore because if you’re going to turn him heel, you’re going to push him even harder.”

So, in other words, while it will eventually be a good idea for Reigns to turn heel, it’s not a good idea at this juncture. However, eventually, it may be a good idea for him to become a heel. After all, the audience seemed to like him better when he was a heel, and not now that he’s a face.

And, in a different report for Bleacher Report, it was suggested that Roman Reigns should have a “dream match” with Conor McGregor, who is currently promoting his fight against Floyd Mayweather.

“McGregor would focus on trying to bring The Big Dog to the mat. Reigns would look to barrel over and Superman Punch the Irishman in the mouth. Their collision would simply be electric. It’s bound to be 100 times more entertaining than McGregor vs. Mayweather will end up being.”

McGregor is currently facing a bit of controversy thanks to his perceived racist comments about Floyd Mayweather in particular, and black people in general.

But Roman Reigns and Conor McGregor already have a rivalry in place, because a few months ago, Reigns told McGregor that he was “the size of his leg” before telling the fighter to “shut up.” So, because they have a real life rivalry, the fight will be much more interesting than the fight between McGregor and Mayweather, that’s for sure.
