Larry David will return on October 1 for Season 9 of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'.

‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Season 9: Everything You Need To Know About Larry David’s Return

Season 9 of Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm is set to air on October 1, and if rumors are anything to go by, the new season is certain to be pretty, pretty good. It has now been 17 years since Curb Your Enthusiasm began its life on HBO, and the show is unique not only because of Larry David’s vision, but also because it has been running longer than any other scripted comedy on the network.

Devotees of Curb Your Enthusiasm have 10 episodes to look forward to in Season 9, and in true Larry David style, the unlikely hero of Curb donned the attire of a Roman emperor to announce the return of his groundbreaking HBO comedy.

“In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, I left, I did nothing, I returned.”

The last season of Curb may seem like it was on quite a long time ago, which is understandable as it has now been six years since the comedy was last aired in 2011. While we all know that Larry David will be returning on Season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, what about the rest of the cast? Fans will be pleased to know that despite Cheryl and Larry David’s divorce, Cheryl Hines will be returning for more adventures with Larry in the new season.

Season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm will also see the return of Ted Danson, Susie Essman (Susie Greene), Smoove (Leon Black), Jeff Garlin (Jeff Greene) and Chris Williams (Krazee-Eyez Killa). In fact, Susie Essman has stated for the record that half of the cast will be returning for the new season, as the NME reported.

“Half the old crew from six years ago is coming back. They’re incredibly loyal to him, so he couldn’t be the jerk that he is in the show if that was the case. We haven’t shot in six years so I am so pumped to get into those Susie Greene crazy outfits, and I’m trying to come up with a new fashion theme for her this year.”

There will also be some new cast members on Season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, including Lauren Graham from the Gilmore Girls.

Susie Essman has highlighted part of why she feels Larry David is a genius and why Curb Your Enthusiasm appeals to so many fans around the world, as Rolling Stone reported.

“Larry’s very concerned about justice. This is right, this is wrong. And he’s concerned about that in the world. He’s very political, and cares, always cares about the little guy and the underdog and how people are being treated. It’s one of the reasons why the crew loves him so much. But he really, really has a tremendous sense of morality, and the injustices of the world I think are something that really disturb him. That life isn’t fair, I think really bothers him, and I think that that is one of his driving forces. And you know what, he’s absolutely correct. You don’t act like a pig and take up two parking spots. It’s also piggishness that I think really disturbs him.”

While fans may be wondering what the latest plot will be on Season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, these details are very hard to come by. In fact, Mary Steenburgen, who plays Ted Danson’s wife on the show, has said that the cast wasn’t even sure that the show would be coming back and that they could never get a straight answer out of Larry David no matter how many times they asked. Last Summer, however, Larry finally said, “I think we’re doing it,” and pitched his idea for the new season.

Season 9 will take place in Los Angeles since during the filming of Season 8 in New York, Larry David felt that there were too many bystanders not only watching scenes but also trying to participate. This was never an issue in Los Angeles, unlike New York, where, according to Larry David, curious onlookers were “very vocal and enthusiastic, and you can’t get one person to stop.”

Are you excited for the October 1 premiere date of Season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm and what kind of adventures do you think the new season will bring for Larry David and the rest of the cast?
