The net worth among celebs took an interesting turn in 2017. Beyonce became the highest-paid musician, even though she was nowhere in the picture in 2016.
Beyonce’s total earning last year was higher than all her rivals, thanks to her hugely successful album, Lemonade. Adele became the second-highest money-maker among female celebs. Simon Konecki’s wife is, however, earning steadily as her rank went higher than the previous year.
Beyonce did not make it to the top money-makers’ list last year. She did not have any tours in 2015. She had limited music release. But, in 2016, Beyonce had The Formation Tour, as well as Lemonade. Despite having a relatively inactive year in 2015, she hit hard last year and earned $62.1 million.
Beyonce’s earning in 2016 was so high that she managed to beat her nearest rival, Guns N’ Roses, by $20 million. The legendary hard rock band earned more than $40 million in its highest-grossing tour so far. It helped them earn $42 million to reach the second spot.
Bruce Springsteen earned almost $41 million in touring last year. In addition, he earned $1.4 million in recording royalties for The River. With $42.2 million, Springsteen reached the third spot. The fourth position belongs to Drake, who earned big with streaming music ($18.1 million). With nearly $14 million earning for the Future tour, Drake finished fourth.
Adele, who was at number nine last year, moved up to the fifth position this year. According to Billboard, she earned 2.2 million with album sales in the United States. The only artist to earn more than her in the country was Prince. The “Hello” singer earned nearly $1.3 million in radio spins.
The Inquisitr earlier reported that Adele became the first British musician to sign a $130-million deal with Sony. She is married to Simon Konecki. Their son Angelo will turn five this October. Konecki’s wife happens to be one of the highest-paid musicians in the world. The 29-year-old British singer is worth $135 million, according to The Richest.
It was Taylor Swift who topped the list in 2016, with a whopping $170 million in her bank. The lion’s share of that amount came from her 1989 Tour, according to Forbes. Adele, who finished at the second spot, was way behind her. However, Adele’s earning was $80.5 million, still higher than Beyonce’s claim to the top spot this year.
