Christina El Moussa is reportedly joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County for Season 13. A new report revealed that the Bravo executives were hoping to sign the HGTV personality next season, thinking that her life as a newly single parent would make good reality TV.
Insiders told OK! Magazine, via Us Weekly, that Christina El Moussa would fit right in on The Real Housewives of Orange County. Although Season 12 only premiered last Monday, it was said that the Bravo executives were already talking about casting for Season 13. In fact, if El Moussa ended up saying yes, she already has an interesting storyline ahead of her.
“[The show would] navigate [her] life as a single mom to daughter Taylor, 6, and son Brayden, 23 months, while dating and still working alongside her, ex, Tarek, despite their breakup last year,” the insider said.
A second source told the website that Christina’s storyline could end up being the focus of The Real Housewives of Orange County next season if the “ratings falter” or if the “cast gets greedy.”
In December, HGTV couple Tarek El Moussa and Christina El Moussa surprised Flip or Flop fans when they announced that they are getting a divorce. In an interview with In Touch Weekly, Tarek admitted that having very busy schedules took a toll on their relationship. While thankful for all their projects, he explained that it only pushed them apart from each other.
Currently, Christina is dating Doug Spedding, a 55-year-old businessman from Orange County. Sources claimed that she had actually dated Doug even before Christina and Tarek got together. Earlier last week, the happy couple was spotted enjoying a romantic boat outing on Independence Day. While the two are dating exclusively, insiders close to the couple said that Christina and Doug are still taking their time getting to know each other.
Although Christina and Doug’s romance sounds like a good storyline for next season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Gossip Cop pointed out that it’s still too early to assume any casting decisions this early on. They added that producers still needed to see how the audience would react to the newer episodes before shuffling the cast again.
“It would be very premature to set the next season’s cast now,” they added.
As she’s currently busy filming new episodes of Flip or Flop, a rep told the website that Christina El Moussa had no plans of going on The Real Housewives of Orange County soon. She, however, is not closing her doors on being a Housewife.
“Who knows what the future holds,” the insider teased.
The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 12 airs Mondays 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
