Kim Kardashian Hits Back At Critics Accusing Her Of Putting North West In A Corset

Kim Kardashian had to defend herself for the second time on social media this week, the latest one involving the online rage prompted by a photo of her daughter North West wearing something that looks like a corset top.

The said photo shows Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter North West wearing something that resembles a white corset wrapped around her peach-colored dress while walking the streets of New York. Photos of North were put up on the web presumably to showcase her Baby Yeezy trainers. But while the little girl’s kicks looked nothing short of impressive, most of those who saw the photo had their sights on the curious dress her mom put on her that day instead.

Kim Kardashian has hit back at her critics on Wednesday to point out that the dress little North was wearing in the controversial photo was not a corset, explaining that she “would never” put one on her daughter, ET Online reports.

“The Daily Mail, this one’s for you,” Kim wrote. “This dress, that I did not design — I actually bought — is not a corset. It’s just fabric on the front that looks like a corset. I think it’s really cute. I bought it from a designer and it’s just fabric, people, it’s not a real corset.”

Ms. Kardashian also published a video on Twitter, writing, “I would never put my daughter in a corset! It’s a dress I bought that is a cotton fabric that laces up & looks like a corset! Just decoration.”

Corsets are considered by many as inappropriate for use on underage women owing to the fact that it’s meant to accentuate a woman’s curves, hence the popular notion that it sexualizes the female body. Since corsets are used for waist training, they are for the most part uncomfortable to wear. Additionally, some doctors don’t recommend them because of their tendency to cause damage to a wearer’s internal organs. By that reason alone it’s not in the least surprising that people are criticizing Kardashian for dressing her daughter in something that resembles one.

Kim Kardashian also had to set the record straight earlier this week that she isn’t a drug user when followers slammed her for a Snapchat selfie which allegedly showed two lines of “coke” on a table in the background.

Kardashian quickly responded to the accusations, explaining that the two lines of powder they’ve spotted were just “sugar from our candy mess from dylan’s candy (sic),” as previously reported by the Inquisitr.

Kim also posted a video to point out that the table in the background was just a “marble table,” and then adding that she doesn’t do drugs because she has children to think about.

“So we did go to Dylan’s Candy Shop. I did think it was our pixie sticks, but after all that, this table in the background is a marble table you guys, like come on!” she said, zooming on the table and the white lines on top of powder on top of it. “I don’t play like that, come on. I have kids. It’s just not my lifestyle. I’ve never been like that. I just really can’t believe this.”
