For fans of the Knights Templar that are attending San Diego Comic-Con on July 20-23, the A&E Network will have a treat for you with their very first glimpse into their new television drama series, Knightfall.
Since the A&E Network made the announcement about their upcoming series based on the history of the Knights Templar, very little news has come to light since then. It is known that Knightfall will delve into the later history of the Knights Templar and will likely feature a guest appearance of The Avengers actor Jeremy Renner, who will also help produce the series.
While there does not appear to be any early screenings of Knightfall during San Diego Comic-Con, fans will be able to catch a very special sneak peek into the upcoming TV series. Along with this, according to Bleeding Cool and the official press release for Knightfall‘s SDCC appearance, fans will be able to have their photo taken with the Knights Templar.
A very special security service will also be available that is Knightfall-themed. “Knightfall: Guardians of the Gear” will run the entire course of San Diego Comic-Con and attendees will be able to able to roam the convention knowing their valuable loot from SDCC will be protected thanks to the storage service.
“The Holy Grail required protection of the Knights Templar, and SDCC attendees can count on that same protection for their own personal belongings by storing them in History Channel’s “Knightfall: Guardians of the Gear.” Located along the MLK Promenade in the Gaslamp Quarter, our knights will guard attendees swag while they explore the rest of Comic-Con.”
For those Knights Templar fans who are gamers and attending San Diego Comic-Con, the Knightfall theme continues with the option to preview the upcoming Knightfall: Rivals video game on Steam Platform. This game will be available soon to mobile devices according to the Knightfall press release.
Finally, comic book fans will be able to pick up the Knightfall-inspired comic from Titan Comics titled Truth and Lies. This comic will be a prequel to Knightfall and follows the siege of the Acre in 1291 as the Knights Templar fight to protect their most important relic — the Holy Grail.
Further details for Knightfall are below.
“Knightfall follows the Knights Templar, the most powerful, wealthy and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages, entrusted with protecting Christianity’s most prized relic — the Holy Grail — and harboring secrets capable of destroying the Church itself. Knightfall goes deep into the inner sanctum of the clandestine world of this legendary brotherhood of warrior monks. From their battles in the Holy Land, to their clash with the King of France, to the betrayal that would ultimately lead to their tragic dissolution on Friday the 13th — a date which became synonymous with bad luck — the story of the Knights Templar has never been fully told until now. Knightfall takes viewers inside the world to find out who these knights were, how they lived, and what they died believing.”
