Jordan Rodgers Explains Why He Won’t Be Marrying JoJo Fletcher Anytime Soon

Jordan Rodgers says he has had a roller coaster of a year, but he’s not planning to slow down anytime soon. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, The Bachelorette winner revealed that reality TV fame has its ups and downs, but that it was “the best blessing” he could imagine when finding a fiance in JoJo Fletcher and starting a new life with her in Dallas. Jordan, who just landed a prime sportscasting gig on SEC Saturday Night, admits that the media attention the couple gets has been a crazy experience, including the “crazy fans and trolls and the things that come with the reality side of TV.” But it sounds like the trade-off has been worth it.

Rodgers told THR the couple recently moved into a new neighborhood close to JoJo’s family, and that things are getting back to normal. But Bachelorette fans want to know why Jordan Rodgers and JoJo Fletcher haven’t set a wedding date yet. In Bachelor Nation, a year-long engagement is an eternity.

‘We’re figuring out our life” Rodgers explained. “We’re learning more about each other every single day, what our life is going to look like and where it’s going to be…So we’re enjoying this time of being engaged, continuing to date and court each other, and getting to know each other even more.”

Jordan said the couple wouldn’t tie the knot until the time is right, and it sounds like that time is still a long way off.

“When the time is right, we’re absolutely going to sit down and start planning [a wedding],” Rodgers said. “But we’re definitely taking our time. We want everything to be right and make sure we’re in the right place.”

In the past, JoJo issued a similar sentiment, telling E! News that living together in Texas is enough. Fletcher revealed that the couple is just “just enjoying being together right now.” JoJo has also said they can’t decide where to hold the wedding since their families are spread out in Dallas and California.

Fans who are hoping for a TV wedding may be out of luck. Rodgers told THR they hadn’t heard anything from Bachelorette producers, so he doesn’t think an ABC TV wedding is in the cards for the couple. Not that he wants one, anyway. While he acknowledges that fans would love to witness his wedding to JoJo, Jordan admits he would hesitate to put such a private moment out there.

“That’s something we would have to discuss together but very honestly, my first reaction would be that I would probably rather not,” Jordan said. “There’s a distinct intimacy and privacy and it’s a very special moment with family and friends, and I wouldn’t want anything to tarnish that or to take away from that.”

Jordan Rodgers said he wouldn’t want his special day with JoJo Fletcher play out on a network’s timetable.

“I want us to run the show and make sure it’s always what we imagined,” Rodgers said. “If there’s a way to do that and include fans, great. But that wouldn’t be my first wish.”

At this point, fans are just wishing for any Bachelor wedding. In addition to Jordan Rodgers and JoJo Fletcher, franchise alums Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth have yet to say, “I do,” and Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi are also still in engagement mode. While franchise stars Evan Bass and Carly Waddell tied the knot last month, fans have not yet seen the wedding footage.
