Lea Michele Still ‘Has A Big Piece Of Her Heart’ With Cory Monteith 4 Years After His Death

Tragically, Lea Michele lost the love of her life, Glee actor Cory Monteith, four years ago on July 13, 2013. According to friends and family, Lea Michele is just as devoted to him as she was when they were together and often thinks about him during this time of year. The star dated him from November of 2011 until the time of his death.

An insider close to Lea Michele revealed to Hollywood Life that the singer will never truly be over Cory and that this time of year is always the most difficult for her.

“She always misses him around this time of year since it is so close to his death anniversary. She always gets reminded of things he did or liked and it just makes her sad that he isn’t around anymore.”

Lea Michele has memorialized her former boyfriend with several tattoos on her body to ensure he is always with her wherever she goes. She also released an album in 2014 titled Louder, in which two of the tracks, “Hey You” and “If You Say So,” were inspired by their relationship.

The star recently jetted off to Maui, where she and her friends frolicked in the water and learned how to do the hula.

The star also learned to wakeboard and participated in several other beach activities with a bevy of her best pals. It looks like it was a fun and relaxing vacation, and much needed around the anniversary of Cory’s untimely death.

Lea Michele recently released a new album, Places, which made its debut in April. It was preceded by the single “Love is Alive” in March of 2017. The album debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard with 16,000 copies sold in its first week. The star had been working on the music since 2015 and wanted to ensure that she did things right for her newest offering.

Although Lea Michele looked to have had a fabulous time in Maui, the star has returned to Los Angeles to get back to work on some of her latest projects. The star donned a burgundy sun dress on Monday as she headed out to grab a deliciously healthy meal from one of Los Angeles’ macrobiotic eateries.

The star will be moving to ABC, where she will star in the new series The Mayor. The show tells the story of a rapper who runs for mayor as a publicity stunt but accidentally ends up winning.
