Cube H600HDMI PMP Offers Huge Codec Support, Very Thin Design

The Cube H600HDMI PMP is a sleek and functional PMP that offers a 5 inch display with 800 x 480 resolution, can decode up to 768/30Mb media and outputs with an HDMI port at 720p and 1080i resolutions. That’s all well and good, but it’s the devices 6.99mm thickness that really impressed us.

To put that size into perspective, SlashGear pointed out that the iPod Touch comes with 8.5mm of thickness, while the Zune HD comes in at 8.9mm.

The H600HDMI PMP also offers a wide array of codec support which includes: RMVB, RM, AVI, FLV, MKV, DAT, WMV, MPG, MP4, MOV, PMP, VOB, H.264 (HP) and H.263 video files, while audio support includes MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC and OGG with DTS/AC-3 decoding.

Not convinced you need one yet? How about throwing in FM radio, gaming capabilities and photo plus ebook viewers, while also acting like a USB host for external memory.

The unit is priced at a reasonable 499 yuan ($73), but that price is deceiving when you take into consideration the lack of WiFi and no web-browsing capabilities. Otherwise for $73 an 8GB ultra portable hard drive is still not a bad price to pay.

No word yet if the Cube will make it stateside, currently it’s only available in China.
