Lisa Rinna Reacts To Eileen Davidson’s ‘RHOBH’ Departure, Eden Sassoon Confirms No Season 8

With filming for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 8 just beginning, there has already been some major cast announcements. Last Friday, Eileen Davidson, who joined the show during Season 5 alongside Lisa Rinna, announced that she won’t be returning as a starring cast member for the upcoming eighth season. Eden Sassoon, who was a recurring housewife last season, has also announced that she’s out of the show.

In a statement to the media, Eileen indicated that it was her choice to leave her position on the show due to having too much on her plate. Yet, she hinted that she hasn’t left the show completely by adding that she “might be popping in from time to time.” She also indicated that she might return as a starring housewife in a later season by stating that she’s stepping away “for now.” Also, luckily for Eileen’s soap opera fans, she confirmed that she is still on CBS’ The Young and The Restless, where she plays Ashley Abbott, as well as returning to NBC’s Days of Our Lives, where she last played Kristen DiMera in 2015.

“After a lot of careful thought, I’ve decided because of my crazy schedules at The Young and The Restless, as well as Days of Our Lives, it’s best for me and my family if I step away from being a Housewife for now. But you never know, I might be popping in from time to time just to see what the ladies are up to! Thanks for your love and support guys!!!”

In a tweet, Eileen reiterated that she decided to step away from Real Housewives because of her crazy schedule from her roles on the two soap operas. She again indicated that viewers may see her as a recurring guest or “friend of the housewives” on the upcoming season and that she might return in a full-time role later on.

For the three seasons that Eileen Davidson starred on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she was very close friends with Lisa Rinna, whom she met years ago when Lisa also starred on Days of Our Lives, as Billie Reed. Eileen and Lisa were fiercely loyal to one another and defended one another whenever the other got into drama with the other housewives. Eileen in particular had Lisa’s back throughout her tensions with the other housewives. Even when Lisa got into a lot of trouble with the other women for suggesting that former cast member Yolanda Edwards might have Munchausen syndrome instead of Lyme disease, for claiming that Lisa Vanderpump manipulated her, and for saying that Kim Richards was still struggling with her sobriety and “close to death,” Eileen, while making it clear that she sometimes didn’t agree with what Lisa said and did, still stuck by her.

So what does Lisa have to say about Eileen’s departure from the show? Not surprisingly, Lisa’s sad. In response to an Instagram photo that Eileen posted in regards to her departure, Lisa left a crying face emoji and told her that she loves her “so much.” Eileen in turn left the kiss and heart emojis for Lisa.

“lisarinna?????? Love you so much Eileen! XO”

“eileendavidsonofficial@lisarinna??????”

So with whom will Lisa ally herself with now that Eileen’s gone? Lisa may stick by Erika Girardi, aka Erika Jayne, who joined the show for the sixth season. Over the past two seasons, both Eileen and Lisa bonded with Erika. Erika has also agreed with Lisa’s opinion that co-star Lisa Vanderpump isn’t as innocent as she makes herself out to be. Early this morning, Lisa wished Erika a happy birthday.

On Saturday, E! News reported that in addition to Lisa Rnna, it’s likely that the Season 8 housewives will consist of Kyle Richards, Lisa V., Erika, and Dorit Kemsley. Additionally, former starring housewives Camille Grammer and Adrienne Maloof will be again showing up in guest appearances. There will also be Teddi Jo Mellencamp, daughter of musician John Mellencamp, although at this point it’s not clear whether she will be a starring or recurring housewife.

On Thursday, Camille shared a photo of everyone at Las Vegas.

One housewife who may be glad about Eileen’s departure is Lisa Vanderpump. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the relationship between Eileen and Lisa V. got so bad at one point that Lisa V., in her blogs, nicknamed Eileen “soapy” and said that she has nothing to offer Real Housewives.

In addition to Eileen Davidson, another housewife has left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. A little over a week ago, Eden Sassoon announced that viewers won’t be seeing her on the upcoming season. In a tweet to a fan, Eden, who found herself in trouble during Season 7 due to her questioning of Kim Richards’ sobriety, indicated that it was her decision to leave because of all the drama.
