‘Hawaii Five-0’ Fans Plead CBS To Give Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park Equal Pay As Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan

Hawaii Five-0 fans have just made it their duty to ensure Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park will return in Season 8.

There is a lot of buzz about Hawaii Five-0 following the departure of longtime cast members Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park. Naturally, people have mixed reactions over the actors’ equal pay dispute, but most believe that both stars should get paid the same as Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan. Will CBS listen to the fans to ensure the return of Chin Ho Kelly and Kono Kalakaua?

It’s no secret that Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park have been asking for equal pay for some time. Unfortunately, their effort has been unrewarded as CBS reportedly only agreed to pay them 10-15 percent less than their co-stars Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan. This resulted in both Asian actors to leave Hawaii Five-0 just ahead of the eighth season.

The upcoming season will be the first without Chin Ho Kelly and Kono Kalakaua, that is unless CBS decides to listen to Hawaii Five-0 fans. Although Kim and Park have already made their decision about their departure, some people are still calling out to CBS to negotiate with the actors one more time.

Fans argue that both Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park have been an important part of the Hawaii Five-0 reboot and they should both earn as much as Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan. Others have even pointed out that Chin and Kono have appeared in more episodes than Caan’s Danno.

On the other hand, some believe that O’Loughlin and Caan should be paid more since they both play the lead characters in Hawaii Five-0. The argument suggests that Chin and Kono were secondary characters who could have been written off much sooner in the past seven seasons.

So is there any chance that CBS will try to re-negotiate with Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park? Unfortunately, the network has already accepted the actors’ resignation and even wished them both the best in the future endeavors. The premiere episode of Hawaii Five-0 Season 8 will reportedly explain Chin and Kono’s absence this coming September.
