Mackenzie Standifer Opens Up About Ryan’s Addiction On Social Media
Fans of Teen Mom OG were horrified when they saw Ryan Edwards driving to his own wedding so strung out that he could hardly keep his eyes open. They were even more in shock that his wife, Mackenzie Standifer, instead of asking her man to pull over, turned off the Teen Mom cameras so that they were no longer being filmed.
Crew members have stated that they didn’t stop Ryan from getting in the car because his behavior had not previously been suspicious. They also stated that although they follow the cast members when they are driving, they do not have a live feed that shows what is going on inside of the car.
After the incident, Ryan went to rehab for his drug use. It is rumored that he was addicted to prescription pain killers and anti-anxiety medication, as his ex-girlfriend, Dalis Connell, confirmed to Radar Online that he had started to take them when she was busy running track. His wife, Mackenzie Standifer, is heard on camera asking him if he had taken a Xanax.
However, fans have noticed that Ryan has bruises on his arms and legs consistent with track marks, and many have wondered if he is, perhaps, engaging in something more serious.
It is uncertain how much of his attending rehab has been due to his ex and mother of his child, Maci Bookout, who tried to stage an intervention when she noticed how scary his behavior was, though he refused to return her phone calls.
Since he has returned, he has taken to bashing Maci publicly on his social media, calling her a psycho and telling her she needs to “shut the f**k up.”
Mackenzie Standifer has been less outspoken about the issue between Ryan and Maci and instead has lashed out at fans for their “concern” over Ryan’s issues.
She recently posted a photo of Ryan Edwards post-rehab where he looked like he had gained some weight.
The reluctant reality TV star, Mackenzie, tweeted about her faith in God, which seems to relate to the struggles she is enduring with Ryan’s addition.
“God allows us to experience the low points of life in order to teach us lessons that we could learn in no other way,” she wrote.
It is also possible that she is reeling from all of the criticism fans have rightly dealt her since the episode aired.
Mackenzie Standifer and Maci Bookout, although they once shared a pleasant relationship, look to have some serious tension between them in the reunion special of Teen Mom OG which airs Monday.
