Hayden Panettiere, Scotty McKnight Reportedly Break Up

Actress Hayden Panettiere and her boyfriend Scotty McKnight have reportedly ended their one-year relationship.

According to TMZ, Panettiere, 23, and McKnight, 24, broke up sometime in November after the 2012 American Music Awards but have managed to remain good friends.

“It wasn’t a nasty break,” a source close to the couple told TMZ, adding, “They will probably be back together sometime down the road.”

Us Magazine reports that Hayden and Scotty began dating in June 2011 after meeting through mutual friend, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.

“I’m a huge Jets fan and became very good friends with Mark and his buddies,” Panettiere previously told Us Magazine. “I’ve always been that girl who has a lot of dude friends. I’m into sports so we have a lot in common.”

Prior to her relationship with McKnight, a former wide receiver for the New York Jets, Hayden dated heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko for a year and a half.

Meanwhile, Panettiere has been hard at work on ABC’s new Musical drama television series, Nashville.

The show, which debuted in October and was picked up for a full season by ABC in November, centers around a failed Country music star (played by Connie Britton), whose stardom begins to fade, forcing her to team up with Country’s newest rising star (Panettiere).

In addition to Nashville, Hayden also scheduled to begin filming her forthcoming thriller Over the Wall in the coming months.

The film, co-starring Sebastian Stan and Melissa Leo, is set for release sometime in 2013.
