The popular male dog names Bear and Rocky have also both been on the top 10 list for the past 13 years, with Rocky consistently placing in the top 5 during this time.
2012 also trended towards more human names, such as: Max, Buddy, Charlie, Jack, Toby, Daisy, Lucy, Molly, Lola, Sophie, Sadie, Chloe and Maggie. Such anthropomorphism is thought to signify our dog’s ever increasing importance in the family unit, with dog owners truly thinking of their dogs as human family members.
