Ben Stiller signs a dodgeball at the World Premeire

The Cast Of ‘Dodgeball’ Is Having A Rematch For Charity

The insanely popular 2004 movie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story is finally going to have a sequel — but not in the way that fans had expected. It seems that stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Justin Long, and Christine Taylor have reunited to have a rematch for charity! It was announced on fundraising platform Omaze Wednesday morning, complete with a YouTube video (below) featuring everyone’s two favorite dodgeball teams.

Win A Chance To Play Dodgeball With The Pros

The video starts out with Ben Stiller reprising his role as White Goodman of Globo Gym inviting you to enter for a chance to win a spot on Team Globo Gym (a.k.a. the Purple Cobras) during an epic game of dodgeball for charity. Of course, Vince Vaughn’s Peter LaFleur was not going to let the Purple Cobras be your only option, showing up to give you the alternative of playing for the Average Joe’s instead.

They provide you with two different links — one to enter to win a chance to play for Team Globo and one to win your place on the Average Joe’s for this epic rematch. The video brings back the excitement of the movie, and even features Justin Long being hit in the head with a wrench (and we all know if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!).

Entertainment Weekly got a chance to interview Stiller in regard to the video, asking him how it felt to be back in the shoes of White Goodman.

“It was really strange and fun. I didn’t know what it would be like, because I was away from it for so long and I never really thought there would be any reason to do the character again, but then when this opportunity came up, especially talking to Omaze and what good ideas for fundraising there would be, over the years we’ve been aware of people who are fans of the movie and their connection with it, which I’ve appreciated.”

Donating Means More Chances To Win

While it doesn’t cost anything at all to enter, this is a dodgeball match for charity — and Omaze is a fundraising platform for charities that allows them to offer unique prizes and incentives to donate to a good cause. In this case all donations will be going to The Stiller Foundation with the specific aim to bring educational opportunities to children around the world who otherwise might never have the chance. There are several different options for how much you can donate — and each varying amount entitles you to a different prize or additional entries.

Along with the chance to play with one of the teams, the winner and one friend will get:

  • A custom jersey
  • A team photo
  • Celebratory pizza with Ben Stiller after the game
  • Free air fare and a stay at a 4 Star Hotel

Other things you can get for donating start with 100 more entries for $10, Globo Gym sweatbands for $50, and an Average Joe’s T-shirt for $100 — but the prizes get better the higher the donation. You can get a signed dodgeball for $1,500, White Goodman’s wig and mustache are going for $3,500, and they’ve already sold out the White Goodman costume at the time of writing this! The highest donation is 50,000 entries and a signed skateboard for $5,000.

If you want your chance to win a spot playing for the Purple Cobras of Globo Gym or the Average Joe’s, then you better hurry up and enter! The deadline for entry is August 9, 2017, and the winner will be announced on August 16, 2017 — but most of the good prizes are sure to sell out quick!
