Theme Song For ‘DuckTales’ Reboot On Disney XD Released Along With Premiere Date And New Poster

It has been quite a while since Disney announced a reboot of the very popular DuckTales TV series, but fans have been waiting for much more of it. Now, they’re going to get it as Disney XD has released the confirmed premiere date, an awesome looking poster, and the brand new theme song which will introduce each episode. Fans may be a bit fearful of what has become of their beloved theme music, but you will be pleasantly surprised when you hear it.

As reported by Deadline, the premiere of the DuckTales reboot will air on Saturday, Aug. 12, beginning at midnight. From there, the hour-long TV movie will play for 24 consecutive hours to make sure that everyone gets a chance to see it.

The title of the premiere is so appropriately titled as well with the name of “Woo-oo.”

After that, there will be two new episodes debuting at multiple times on Saturday, Sept. 23. You will also be able to watch them on the Disney XD app and Disney XD Video On Demand options on the same date of release.

Believe it or not, Sept. 23 is actually the 30th anniversary of the premiere date of the original DuckTales series back in 1987.

The new poster released today gives a much better look at what is to come in the reboot, but everyone still needs to know who is starring in it. The voice cast for DuckTales is pretty star-studded with David Tennant leading the way as Scrooge McDuck.

  • Tony Anselmo – Donald Duck
  • Danny Pudi – Huey
  • Ben Schwartz – Dewey
  • Bobby Moynihan – Louie
  • Kate Micucci – Webby Vanderquack
  • Beck Bennett – Launchpad McQuack
  • Toks Olagundoye – Mrs. Beakley

Many more characters will fill up the cast as fans will see Goldie O’Gilt, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys, Gladstone Gander, Gyro Gearloose, Mark Beaks, Flintheart Glumgold, and Ludwig Von Drake. Lin-Manuel Miranda will also lend his voice regularly to Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera/Gizmoduck.

Now, it is time to check out the most important piece of this whole reboot thing from DuckTales on Disney XD, and that is the theme song. The new version was written by Mark C. Mueller and performer by Felicia Barton, but while it is “new,” it isn’t necessarily brand new.

Fans of the original DuckTales will be happy to know that the tune and lyrics were pretty much left alone and the Woo-oos are still there for your singing along enjoyment. Be sure to check out the brand new DuckTales intro and theme song below to see if you’re still in love with it.

DuckTales is a cult classic, and there are so many Disney fans and non-Disney fans who are hoping that this reboot doesn’t screw up its legacy. So far, things aren’t looking too bad with some great artwork in the poster and previous clips, but the stories still need to be good as well. While it is different, the originality of the new theme song may have been just what Disney XD needed to make sure the hardcore fans are on board.
