Selena Gomez And The Weeknd Will Soon Be Spending Time Apart, But Why?
Selena Gomez and The Weeknd are set to spend some time apart in the coming months.
As Selena Gomez continues to work on her new music, her boyfriend of the last several months has announced that his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour has been extended.
“Selena [Gomez] is kinda sad that Abel [Tesfaye] is on tour now for the rest of the year, but she, obviously, understands it’s an essential part of being a hugely successful music star,” a source explained to Hollywood Life on June 14.
According to the report, Selena Gomez will miss her boyfriend like crazy when he’s out of town, but she’s planning to come on the road with him as much as she can, and when she’s can’t, they will keep in touch via FaceTime.
Selena Gomez and The Weeknd began dating one another in January of this year and went public with their relationship in Santa Monica after a dinner date at the popular Giorgio Baldi restaurant. From there, the couple was seen together numerous times in Los Angeles before enjoying a sight-seeing trip to Italy prior to The Weeknd’s tour began.
Throughout the past few months, Selena Gomez has been spotted with The Weeknd during his tour dates in many cities, and according to Hollywood Life, they’ve grown extremely close to one another. In fact, in addition to being lovers, the couple is reportedly best friends.
“It’s like [Selena Gomez]’s right arm has been torn off while Abel’s away — like she’s not complete,” the source continued.
That said, Selena Gomez’s boyfriend always makes an effort to make sure that she feels loved by sending her flowers, gifts, sweet emails, and cute postcards from the places his visits.
Prior to her relationship with The Weeknd, Selena Gomez was involved in a back and forth relationship with Justin Bieber that came to an abrupt end in August of last year after he accused her of using him for fame after she suggested he keep his romance off social media. As fans may recall, Selena Gomez defended Justin Bieber’s fans after he threatened to make his account private due to the backlash he received for spending time with Sofia Richie.
In response, Selena Gomez accused Justin Bieber of cheating on her numerous times during their relationship, and he accused her of cheating with Zayn Malik.
