Alice Cooper’s Announces New Album ‘Paranormal’ Plus Update On Johnny Depp And Hollywood Vampires

Alice Cooper just announced the upcoming release of Paranormal, his first album in six years. Alice is already on tour with his band this summer, even though Paranormal won’t be out until July 28 according to the Rolling Stone.

Alice Cooper plans to team up again with Johnny Depp and Joe Perry for Hollywood Vampires performances soon after the Alice Cooper Paranormal tour according to the Herald Extra.

Paranormal includes two tracks of new music by the original Alice Cooper band, six of Cooper’s greatest hits performed live and 10 other completely new songs. Needless to say, it comes on two disks. For the collectors, there is a limited edition pressed on blood red vinyl.

Johnny Depp and Joe Perry would probably like that color for Hollywood Vampires as well. Will blood red vinyl be used for the next Hollywood Vampires album as well?

Alice Cooper is calling the reunion songs and the six greatest hits a bonus disk, while Paranormal is officially 10 new songs. Cooper dropped the lead single, “Paranoiac Personality” on Friday the title song, however “Paranormal” is the first track.

“Paranormal”
“Dead Flies”
“Fireball”
“Paranoiac Personality
“Fallen In Love.”
“Dynamite Road”
“Private Public Breakdown”
“Holy Water”
“Rats”
“The Sound of A”

Paranormal reflects a lot of Alice Cooper’s varied interests. Johnny Depp might relate to “Paranoiac Personality.” The lyrics of this single are reminiscent of Johnny Depp’s struggles with the media, not that Copper hasn’t had similar struggles in the past.

Here is a snippet of Alice Cooper’s “Paranoiac Personality” that seems to fit Johnny Depp’s negative press situation as described in the Inquisitr.

“Everybody’s got vicious rumors, dripping off of their tongue. Everybody can’t wait to see me run. Everybody’s got loaded stories. And I know for a fact, everybody sees a bull’s eye on my back. I’m smelling a conspiracy, telling lies about me constantly.”

Remember Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper were on tour together with Hollywood Vampires during the same time Marilyn Manson said Johnny Depp was being crucified in the media.

Alice Cooper has played music with many line-ups over the years. He always has one band that he calls his own, but the original band was called Alice Cooper, referring to the whole band, but not necessarily the lead singer at first. Alice always keeps a touring band now.

Hollywood Vampires is a supergroup and a club style band. Johnny Depp and Joe Perry catch up with Alice for performances when they can. Johnny Depp, Joe Perry, and Alice Cooper are equal within the band and have matching band rings, like a secret club.

Three members of the original Alice Cooper Band, Dennis Dunaway, Neil Smith, and Michael Bruce, got back together again for the first time since the 1970s. Together they produced two new songs on the bonus disk.”Genuine American Girl” and “You And All Of Your Friends.”

Alice Cooper said the original band broke up because by 1975 everyone was exhausted from touring, well except Alice apparently, who went on to put out “Welcome to my Nightmare.” Cooper explained to Herald Extra that the band mates always got along.

“I stayed in touch with everybody. That band never got back together. Glen [Buxton] passed away. He was our Keith Richards. That was a huge part of the personality of that band. When that happened, that weakened the base even further. But, we always stayed together.”

Johnny Depp and Joe Perry will not appear on Alice Cooper’s new album, Alice Cooper has reportedly hinted though that there might be a Hollywood Vampires album perhaps to be recorded in 2018. For more about Johnny Depp, Joe Perry and Hollywood Vampires see this from the Inquisitr.

Alice Cooper’s Paranormal, unlike most of his albums, is not a concept album. There is no central theme. Instead, it is ten stand-alone songs, Alice is quoted in Ultimate Classic Rock.

“Like 12 great episodes of The Twilight Zone, each song tells its own twisted little tale”

Alice Cooper told the Herald Extra, each song has its own style.

“Alice Cooper is always going to do guitar rock. That’s always what I do. But, the styles kind of go all over the place, which is great.”

Alice Cooper’s Paranormal will feature some well-known guests including ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons, U2’s drummer Larry Glover, and Roger Glover of Deep Purple.

Alice Cooper told the Herald Extra, Larry Glover wanted to see the lyrics.

“Using Larry Mullen Jr. from U2 on drums was a great idea. When we got to the studio, he asked to see the lyrics. I’ve never ever had a drummer ask me about the lyrics and he said he plays to the lyrics and I said that I loved that. It turned it into something totally different and totally not what I was expecting, yet it works all the way. You hear the whole album and it gives it a different punch to it.”

Alice Cooper’s Paranormal also includes six live songs recorded in Columbus Ohio on May 6, 2016, with the current Alice Cooper band. The songs include, “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “Under My Wheels,” “Billion Dollar Babies,” Feed My Frankenstein,” “Only Women Bleed,” and “School’s Out.”

Alice Cooper’s Tour is tightly booked. No wonder people get tired touring with the sexy 69-year-old. Cooper is tireless. It’s always four to six shows a week, and that is quite a bit. The Alice Cooper tour starts mid-June. There will be some joint tour dates with Deep Purple as well, from August through September.

Johnny Depp and Joe Perry could possibly have dates with Cooper too if the schedule works out for that. Hollywood Vampires have been known to meet up with Alice Cooper even while he is on tour, but Johnny Depp fans will just have to wait and see.

Alice Cooper’s Paranormal album and tour, combined with a Deep Purple joint tour are tightly booked, but there might be time for Johnny Depp and Hollywood Vampires either during or after.
