‘Days Of Our Lives’: When Will Ron Carlivati’s Scripts Begin To Air?

Days of Our Lives fans learned in January that Ron Carlivati was the new head writer for the long-running soap opera. He replaced Dena Higley when NBC decided to fire her and freshen up the storyline of the show. Ron Carlivati had written for both General Hospital and One Life To Live in the past, and brought lots of experience to the table.

While fans of Days of Our Lives are excited about the new head writer, there seems to be some confusion as to when his scripts will actually start airing. Social media posts show that some fans believe the new scripts are the ones being aired now. With how Days of Our Lives does things, this is not the case, however.

Days of Our Lives films seven or eight episodes each week. For how their production budget is set up, this is what works for them. When a show airs, it was taped approximately six months prior. Such was the case in January when Ron Carlivati entered the Days of Our Lives set. The scripts being taped were those that had been written by his predecessor, Dena Higley. While there are rumors of Carlivati making some adjustments to some scenes and having some re-shoots edited in, the storyline was not changed.

The scripts of Dena Higley are getting close to the end. Having left in January, with a six-month lead time, her scripts should end in July. That is when fans of Days of Our Lives can expect to see big changes and new storylines. Ron Carlivati has said that he wants it to be fresh and the viewers to laugh as well as cry. He fully intends to please the audience and revitalize the show.

Fans of Days of Our Lives have been communicating with the new head writer on his Twitter account. Many have spoken up on what they would like to see change and which couples they prefer to see together. Also, Chandler Massey (Will Horton) has taken to Twitter to praise the new scripts. And he isn’t the only one. Drake Hogestyn (John Black) has also given a thumbs up to the new scripts. In an interview with Soap Central, he said they gave him goosebumps like the old scripts did.

For all the Days of Our Lives fans waiting for Ron Carlivati’s changes to begin, we are getting close. Are you ready for some changes to the storylines? Are you Team Abigail or Team Gabi for who ends up with Chad? Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
