How Did Stassi Schroeder’s Boyfriend Impact Her Decision To Launch ‘Straight Up With Stassi’?
Stassi Schroeder’s Podcast series, Straight Up With Stassi, may not have happened if it wasn’t for her relationship with boyfriend, Patrick Meagher.
During an interview with Pacific magazine this week, the Vanderpump Rules star opened up about how her ties to Meagher, who hosts a show on Sirius XM, led to tons of connections in the industry and ultimately, a proposal to star in her own radio series.
“I was with my ex-boyfriend Patrick at the time, and he’s a Sirius XM radio host. I became best friends with one of his best girlfriends, Taylor Strecker, who’s a Sirius XM radio host. So, when I lived in New York, I was always at Sirius XM; I was always around radio people,” she said, according to a report by All About the Real Housewives on June 13.
Stassi Schroeder was involved in a drama-plagued relationship with Jax Taylor when Vanderpump Rules began airing on Bravo TV in January 2013 but eventually, the couple called it quits, and Schroeder moved on with Meagher. A short time later, she relocated from Los Angeles to New York City and began living with the radio host.
Still, when she was initially contacted about the possibility of starring in her own show, Stassi Schroder was hesitant. As she explained, watching the behind-the-scenes action of a radio show had convinced her that she simply wasn’t capable of holding a series of her own. That said, after speaking to her boyfriend about the opportunity, he told her she should give it a shot.
“Patrick, at the time, was really adamant about me doing it, because he’s like, ‘You really don’t have anything to lose. I can teach you everything,'” Stassi Schroeder recalled.

Around this time last year, Stassi Schroeder and Patrick Meagher called it quits after months of back and forth and the reality star opened up about her split during an episode of her Podcast. As listeners may recall, Schroeder broke down on the show and explained that while she hadn’t fallen out of love with Meagher, their relationship had become unhealthy.

While Stassi Schroeder was seen attempting to find love again during the fifth season of Vanderpump Rules earlier this year, she didn’t see much success and after filming wrapped, she and Meagher got back together and debuted their reconciliation on her Instagram page. Since then, Schroeder has shared another photo of herself and Meagher spending time with her family in Southern California.
Stassi Schroeder and the cast of Vanderpump Rules will return to Bravo later this year for Season 6.
