Georgia DOC Inmates Donnie Rowe And Ricky Dubose Allegedly Kill Two Guards And Escape, Manhunt Ensues

Two Georgia Department of Corrections inmates are being sought after allegedly killing two guards and escaping a prison transportation bus. Authorities said Donnie Russell Rowe, 43, and Ricky Dubose, 24, should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached or confronted.

On Tuesday morning, Baldwin State Prison inmates Donnie Russell Rowe and Ricky Dubose were being transported by bus to another prison for work detail. At approximately 5:45 a.m., the inmates reportedly attacked and overpowered corrections officers Christopher Monica and Curtis Billue.

As reported by WFTV, authorities believe Rowe and Dubose stole the officers’.40 caliber Glocks, which they used to shoot the officers dead. They then carjacked a 2004 green Honda Civic with Georgia plates RBJ6601 and fled the scene “toward Eatonton.”

Ricky Dubose is described as a 6’1 tall 140-pound Caucasian male with brown hair and blue eyes. Authorities said the escaped inmate is an active member of an Aryan gang called the Ghostface Gangsters.

A native of Madison County, Georgia, Dubose was convicted of aggravated assault, armed robbery, burglary, fleeing and eluding, theft, and trespassing. He was sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in prison and has been incarcerated since 2015.

Donnie Russell Rowe is described as a 6’1 tall 181-pound Caucasian male with brown hair and blue eyes. The escaped inmate, who goes by the nickname “Whiskey,” was convicted of armed robbery and possession of a firearm. He was subsequently sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The Lewisburg, Tennessee, native has been incarcerated since 2002.

Authorities said the two Georgia Department of Corrections prisoners are considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about either of the men or their whereabouts is encouraged to call 911 immediately. Officials have warned the public to avoid contact with the escapees.

It is unclear whether Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose knew each other before their incarceration. However, authorities believe they acted together to plan and execute the escape.

The Georgia Department of Corrections confirmed the officers killed during the escape were Christopher Monica, who was hired by the DOC in 2009, and Curtis Billue, who was hired in July 2007. In addition to fleeing imprisonment, Rowe and Dubose are also facing charges of allegedly murdering the two law enforcement officials.
