Kate Winslet Launches The Exclusive Flagship Heritage By Kate Winslet Timepiece In Paris

Kate Winslet, perhaps, is best known for her work on Titanic, but she’s become quite the superstar ever since then. Now, she’s teamed up with a Swiss watch company to create exclusive timepieces which will soon be available for auction. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Golden Hat Foundation.

In an official press release for the new partnership, Longine has announced that Kate Winslet, who is their Ambassador of Elegance, has presented an exclusive and very limited timepiece: The Flagship Heritage by Kate Winslet, featuring the same dial as The Flagship Heritage – 60th Anniversary 1957-2017.

“Three models of this exclusive Flagship Heritage by Kate Winslet Watch will be auctioned online to benefit The Golden Hat Foundation, a charity co-founded by the British actress. The Foundation is dedicated to changing the way people on the autism spectrum are perceived. During a visit to the brand’s headquarters in Switzerland last year, the actress chose the dial, the case and strap of the watch. Five gold pieces have been produced and named after the brand ambassador.”

The auction began on June 10 and will continue until June 30. If any of the watches are left over after the auction, one will be presented to the actress, and one will be kept in the Longines Museum, which is located at the company’s headquarters, in Saint-Imier, Switzerland.

Kate Winslet, according to Variety, is currently starring opposite Justin Timberlake and James Franco in the upcoming Woody Allen film, Wonder Wheel, which will be released on December 1. The film also stars Jim Belushi and Juno Temple, and will be released by Amazon Studios. Though Amazon has only been producing original movies for two years, they’ve been making a big splash: last year, Manchester by the Sea, which was also released on Amazon Studios, won Oscars for Casey Affleck and writer-director Kenneth Lonergan.

However, Winslet said that she’s been happy to simply promote the watches for auction.

“I was given the permission to choose a watch, which was designed specifically for the Golden Hat Foundation. The style of the model really appealed to me and I instantly fell in love with it. All the profits of the selling of the model are going directly to the Foundation. This project with Longines is helping raise awareness about a particular cause dear to my heart. Thanks to Longines’ involvement and the generosity of the donators, the Foundation will keep on working towards achieving its goals.”

Longines has been around for a number of years — since the 1800’s, to be exact — and they’re known for partnering with big events. In addition to Kate Winslet, Longines has sponsored such big events as the Belmont Stakes, according to MarketWired/NASDAQ.

However, Longines is extremely proud of their partnership with the Oscar-winning actress. Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President of Longines and Head of International Marketing, went on record to say how excited the company was with their partnership with Kate Winslet.

“Longines is honoured to have been given the opportunity to help the Golden Hat Foundation. We sincerely hope that the generous purchasers of the Flagship Heritage by Kate Winslet timepieces will be proud to own an exclusive Longines watch as well as contribute to the charity’s cause. The values of our brand have always led us to serve philanthropic purposes. Social responsibility remains today one of our priorities. Kate Winslet’s inspiring commitment truly translates our motto and philosophy of ‘Elegance is an Attitude’.”
