Joy-Anna Duggar ‘Counting On’ Wedding Preview: Jinger Thinks It’s ‘Crazy’ That She’s About To Get Kissed
Joy-Anna Duggar will get kissed for the first time tonight as hundreds of thousands of people watch. The Counting On star’s wedding has her older sisters reminiscing about their own big days and talking about the moment that Joy-Anna will lock lips with her husband, Austin Forsyth.
Tonight, Joy-Anna Duggar, 19, and Austin Forsyth, 23, will tie the knot in a two-hour Counting On wedding special. Ahead of the TV event, fans learned quite a few details about the couple’s May 26 wedding; they’ve seen Joy-Anna’s dress and her bridesmaids’ gowns, and they know that Austin had to wipe tears from Joy-Anna’s face as they stood at the altar together. However, tonight fans will get an inside look at the couple’s wedding preparations, and they’ll get to hear the older Duggar girls share their thoughts on their teen sister getting married.
People recently shared a sneak peek of the Counting On season premiere that shows Joy-Anna and her sisters getting their hair done ahead of the wedding.
“I just can’t believe it’s Joy’s time to kiss,” Jinger says. “I still remember her as the little girl that I would help out with things … it’s crazy that it’s her wedding day, but we’re so excited for her.”
Us Weekly reports that viewers will witness Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth breaking a big tradition ahead of their wedding; Austin will see his bride in her wedding dress. According to Austin, he and Joy-Anna decided that they “needed to talk about some things and pray together” before walking down the aisle.
In true Duggar fashion, Joy-Anna’s sisters will be shown reminiscing about their own weddings while they prepare for the big event. This could be an indication that Counting On viewers will be treated to a lot of flashback footage from Jill, Jessa, and Jinger’s wedding specials tonight.

“Being here in the bridal suite while all the girls are getting ready, definitely takes me back to my wedding day,” Jessa says in the sneak peek. “It makes me reminisce about all the sweet memories just hours before my own wedding. I know the excitement that Joy is experiencing right now; the anticipation. It’s a big, big day.”
Jessa Duggar’s nuptials were notable because she and Ben Seewald also broke a big wedding tradition; they decided not to share a kiss in front of their family and friends after saying “I do.” Instead, they went to a private area to lock lips for the first time. Jinger wasn’t as shy as her older sister and bravely decided to let the Counting On cameras film her very first kiss.
“It really does seem like it was just yesterday that Jeremy and I were walking down the aisle and about to get married,” says Jinger in the teaser clip.

For Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth’s wedding, TLC is following the same format that it did for Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s nuptials. After the wedding episode airs, subsequent Counting On episodes will show the build up to the event. Jinger actually got two wedding episodes: a one-hour Counting On season finale that aired just days after her November 5 nuptials and a two-hour special that aired a few months later. It’s unclear whether Joy-Anna will also get two wedding episodes.

Jessa Duggar’s wedding special was the last one that aired during the Duggars’ 19 Kids and Counting days, and the ratings were big back then. According to Zap2it, 4.3 million people tuned in to watch Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald tie the knot. Jill was the first Duggar girl to get married, so her wedding special ratings were even higher; Deadline reports that 4.4 million people watched her wed Derick Dillard. According to the Futon Critic, the numbers for Jinger’s first wedding episode were a bit more modest. It attracted just 2.3 million eyeballs after TLC teased a big courtship announcement during the special. This is how fans were introduced to Joy-Anna’s future husband, Austin Forsyth.
