‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers: Iain Glen Talks Jorah’s Fate

Game of Thrones Season 7 is set to begin airing next month, and fans know the end is rapidly approaching. HBO has already announced that Season 8 will be the last for the hit series, and viewers are worried that their favorite characters may start dying off as the episodes progress. One character whose fate is up in the air is Jorah.

As many viewers know, Jorah contracted greyscale in Season 6, and Daenerys ordered her right hand man to go off and find a cure for the creepy disease. Jorah, who has been in love with the Khaleesi since day one, obeyed her orders and took off. Fans have not seen the character since. However, Game of Thrones watchers believe that Jorah’s fate will finally be revealed when Season 7 begins airing.

According to Winter Is Coming, actor Iain Glen, who plays Jorah Mormont on Game of Thrones recently revealed that he wants Jorah to live. Glen added that the actors never really know what’s in store for their characters, and even though they try to pry information out of showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, it never works.

“So none of us really know, we certainly don’t know where it’s going, but even if I’m for the chop very shortly I would feel like I did pretty good. I survived pretty long.”

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones Season 7 is said to be one of the best seasons yet, and the cast is revealing that the pace of the season is going to be dynamic. Although there is only seven episodes, each one will likely be dramatic and jaw dropping as the story nears it’s end.

“The story is going toward a conclusion. There’s no sense of treading water. You have storylines colliding. And the evolving drama and relationships are as good as they have ever been. It definitely feels like the beginning of the endgame,” Glen stated.

If Jorah can survive his greyscale and make it through Game of Thrones Season 7, it should be interesting to see where his journey takes him. Perhaps he’ll head to The North and reunite with his family member, Lyanna Mormount, who has quickly become a huge fan favorite among viewers. However, he’ll likely want to seek out Daenerys, whom he’s head over heels in love with. If Jorah can survive, he will probably want to try to build a romantic relationship with Dany. However, it seems like she doesn’t want anything more than friendship with Jorah. Perhaps her opinion of him will be changed if he can stop the greyscale.

Meanwhile, HBO has recently announced the run times for Game of Thrones Season 7 episodes. Dan Weiss recently told Entertainment Weekly that one of the episodes in the season will be the longest yet and run at a movie-length 90 minutes. However, he also confirmed that another episode will be the series’ shortest and only run for 50 minutes.

“One will be our longest episode ever — it’s coming in around 90 minutes. Another is going to be our shortest episode at 50 minutes.”

The network has confirmed that the Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere will run for 59 minutes. Season 6 previously held the record for the longest episode of the series, with the finale “The Winds of Winter” running 69 minutes.

Fans still have time to catch up on all of the episodes Game of Thrones, and can watch the full series on HBO GO before Season 7 premieres on July 16.
