Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Oblivious To Kids’ Pain Amid Divorce — Determined To Become Better Parents

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were completely oblivious to the pain and suffering their six children had endured during the time they were feuding over their divorce arrangement, it has been reported.

The actress famously called it quits in September, with multiple outlets later confirming that Brad Pitt’s alcohol addiction played a big part in Angelina’s decision to end her two-year marriage for good. Things had gotten so bad between the two that the environment wasn’t necessarily safe for their kids anymore.

Not to say that Brad Pitt was a bad father, as the actor admits himself in an interview with GQ, but his drinking was so out of control that even he was surprised Jolie stuck around for as long as she did, admitting that he has himself to blame for how things turned out in his marriage.

Following the divorce announcement, however, Angelina made it known that she wanted full custody of the children, which was something Brad was refusing to allow, stressing he was willing to hire the best lawyers in California to prevent Jolie was being rewarded with full guardianship.

A vicious feud over the custody agreement would follow, and while Jolie and Brad Pitt were so caught up in fighting over who was going to obtain custody over the kids, both parents were ignorant to the fact that their offsprings were suffering from the bickering and feuding.

Though Brad Pitt and his estranged wife had often stressed how important family is to them, to fight over custody of the children and forget about their feelings in this case ended up making them seem like hypocrites to their fans.

Hollywood Life asserts by saying that going through the divorce process and hearing about potentially not getting to see one of their parents once all was said and done definitely unsettled the children. Not until Angie took note did she decide to put her differences with Brad Pitt to one side, realizing that their feud is absolutely ridiculous.

“Brad Pitt, 52, and Angelina Jolie, 41, are doing everything in their power to put their egos aside and leave the drama behind for the sake of the kids,” a source admits.

“The kids took the breakup really hard,” the insider continues, “and it shocked both Brad and Angelina into realizing what their priorities are here — the welfare and happiness of the children.”

In his interview with GQ, Brad Pitt says that he’s been sober for months. He hasn’t had a drop of alcohol since seeking help from multiple therapists, and from what he’s told the magazine, the actor feels better than ever before. He knew that a change needed to happen if he wanted to remain in his family’s life.

Perhaps the drastic change Brad Pitt has made was another key factor as to why Angelina was ready to put her differences with the A-list star to the side and get back to focusing on being the best possible parents they can be to their six children.

Angelina recently purchased a brand new home in Los Feliz, California, which is just two miles away from Brad Pitt’s estate. Sources say that the actress’s decision to buy a house close to Brad was simply because she wants the kids to continue having a close relationship with their father and seeing that they’ve spent the majority of their lives in that particular area, it only made sense to continue living there.

Insiders say that Jolie and Brad Pitt are on much better terms now. They will continue to pull through with their divorce plans, but as far as their children are concerned, they are doing everything with their interest in mind. Angie and Brad Pitt will remain close friends as they co-parent their kids together in Los Feliz.
