Josh And Anna Duggar Broke And Struggling To Make Ends Meet, Says Insider, As Baby #5 Is On The Way

Josh and Anna Duggar are broke and struggling to make ends meet, OK Magazine is reporting.

An insider source, speaking on condition of anonymity, says the father of four – soon to be five – is having a hard time coming up with the cash to make the mortgage payments and put food on the table. Josh is apparently not very good at his job as a used car salesman, and it’s starting to affect the family.

“It’s her fifth child, and I know Josh’s used car business isn’t doing great. I don’t know how they do it having another mouth to feed.”

In fact, Josh is so bad at being a used car salesman that in a bizarre incident earlier this year, the hapless salesman let a customer drive off with a car right under his nose! Josh, apparently having failed Car Salesman 101, neglected to get a copy of the perp’s driver’s license. What’s more, one of Josh’s salesmen apparently bought a gun from the thief just before he drove off; a weapon that was allegedly used in a crime earlier that day.

It’s a rather staggering case of riches to rags (well, not really “riches” or “rags,” but you get the point) for a man who, two years ago, had a promising career.

Before the summer of 2015, Josh was bringing in money as a popular reality TV star, although how much money he was bringing in isn’t clear. Additionally, he was looking at a bright future in politics after the outspoken evangelical conservative had worked with Republicans in the Arkansas state government and had even done some work for a national conservative think-tank.

However, as you’re well aware, Josh’s careers in reality TV and politics came to an abrupt end when In Touch Weekly revealed that Josh had molested his sisters as a teenager. If that news wasn’t bad enough, just a few weeks later, it came out that Josh had been using the cheating website, Ashley Madison.

Speaking of Ashley Madison, even though it’s been two years, that whole mess is still coming back to bite Josh in the, well, you know. Los Angeles-based DJ Matthew McCarthy claims that Duggar used his identity to maintain his (Josh’s) Ashley Madison persona, and he’s filed a lawsuit.

Now, two years later, the Duggar family has put Josh’s scandals behind them. His presence on the family blog has been limited, and he’s noticeably absent from Counting On, the show about his sisters, Jill and Jessa, and their families. For his part, Josh has gone to rehab, and his marriage to Anna appears to be on the mend.

“Anna seems happy. She’s really excited for the baby to be born.”

Financial problems aside, it seems like Josh is trying to do right by his family in other ways, according to the insider source.

“Anna’s pregnancy has gone really well. She’s feeling great and she and Josh seem to be in a good place right now. Josh hasn’t always been the most helpful with raising the kids, but he seems to be stepping up to the plate a bit more now. They even came to Florida to visit with Anna’s family, which doesn’t happen often. They went shopping for the baby and spent nice, quality time with her family.”

However, the source makes it clear that, while love conquers all, there are still real issues in their life that need to be sorted out.

“I just hope they can figure out a better way to make ends meet.”
