The CW Fall Premiere Dates 2017: ‘The Flash,’ ‘Supernatural,’ ‘Arrow,’ ‘Jane The Virgin,’ ‘Riverdale’


The CW has released the premiere dates of its 2017 fall shows. All of its shows are premiering in the second week of October. Valor and Dynasty are the two shows that will be debuting this fall, and the returning shows include The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, Supernatural, Jane the Virgin, Riverdale, and more.

Here are the premiere dates for The CW Shows’ 2017-2018 fall season.

Supergirl Season 3

Premiere Date, Time: Monday, October 9, at 8/7c.

Supergirl Season 2 finale teased that a new villain would be introduced in Season 3. And it is now confirmed that Odette Annable has signed on as a series regular to play the bad girl, Reign. In the comics, she becomes an adversary of Supergirl when she arrives on Earth with the aim to conquer it.

Valor (New Series)

Premiere Date, Time: Monday, October 9, at 9 p.m.

Valor is a serialized military drama/conspiracy thriller that unfolds both in the present and in flashbacks. According to the plot summary, “the boundaries between military discipline and human desire are tested on a U.S. Army base that houses an elite unit of helicopter pilots trained to perform clandestine international and domestic missions.”

The Flash Season 4

Premiere Date, Time: Tuesday, October 10, at 8 p.m.

Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg explained at PaleyFest that they were not going to have a speedster as the principal antagonist in Flash Season 4, TV Line reported. The new season is set to introduce a new villain, Clifford DeVoe (aka The Thinker), a legal eagle-turned-supervillain.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 3

Premiere Date, Time: Tuesday, October 10, at 9 p.m.

In Legends of Tomorrow Season 3, Tala Ashe will be introduced as Muslim-American woman Zari Adrianna Tomaz, a new member of the team aboard the Waverider. The actress is joining as a series regular.

Riverdale Season 2

Premiere Date, Time: Wednesday, October 11, at 8 p.m.

When TV Line asked Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to describe Season 3, he said, “civil war.” He also confirmed that Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) father, Hiram Lodge, would make an appearance in the new season. Mark Consuelos has been cast to play the role.

The showrunner said, “we’re going to honor that proud tradition of Hiram hating Archie and also subvert it. And Mark is much more charming than the Hiram in the comics. For a while, we’re not going to know what his intentions are — if he’s truly reformed or not. Very quickly, we’re going to know he has a strong opinion about Archie, though.”

Dynasty (New Series)

Premiere Date, Time: Wednesday, October 11, at 9 p.m.

Dynasty is a modernized reboot of 1980s primetime soap opera. The show follows two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they fight for control over their fortune and their children, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Supernatural Season 13

Premiere Date, Time: Thursday, October 12, at 8 p.m.

Mark Sheppard, who plays Crowley, will not be returning as series regular in Supernatural Season 13. In his potential last appearance on the show, his character made the ultimate sacrifice by stabbing himself with an angel blade to trap Lucifer on Earth and seal it off.

Arrow Season 6

Premiere Date, Time: Thursday, October 12, at 9 p.m.

Arrow Season 6’s premiere episode is one of the most anticipated episodes of the series. It is set to reveal who survived and who perished in Lian Yu explosion. The Season 5 finale saw Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra) shooting himself in the head and setting off a massive chain of explosions on the island. Almost everyone dear to Oliver (Stephen Amell) was on the island when it went up in flames.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 3

Premiere Date, Time: Friday, October 13, at 8 p.m

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 3 will probably see Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) putting in place a plan to destroy Josh (Vincent Rodriguez III). In Season 2 finale, Josh ditched Rebecca at the altar to become a priest, and the episode ended with Rebecca’s vow, “Josh Chan must be destroyed.”

Speaking of Season 3, showrunner Aline Brosh McKenna told TV Line, “in a time of crisis here, a new persona leaps into her [Rebbeca] mind, and it’s the scorned woman [in Season 3 of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend]. We’ll see how consistently she follows through on that, and how her feelings evolve as she recovers from this big rupture.”

Jane the Virgin Season 4

Premiere Date, Time: Friday, October 13, at 9 p.m.

In Jane the Virgin Season 3 finale, Tyler Posey was introduced as Jane Villanueva’s (Gina Rodriguez) mysterious first boyfriend, Adam. The new season will provide a backdrop and reveal more details about their relationship. Jane the Virgin Season 4 will pick up right where it left off in Season 3.
