Ramona Singer Says ‘RHONY’ Production Paid Dorinda Medley’s Room Damage After Bethenny Frankel Fight

Perhaps one of the more unusual moments of the latest The Real Housewives of New York City episode, which aired on Wednesday night, was when Dorinda Medley revealed that Ramona Singer, after her blowout fight with Bethenny Frankel, pulled the light fixtures off from the walls in the guest room that she was staying in, causing paint to come off in several areas. According to Dorinda, Ramona then just left without even acknowledging what she had done to the room.

After the episode aired, many viewers left critical comments on Ramona’s Twitter and Instagram pages. They criticized Ramona for causing damage to Dorinda’s room and expressed bewilderment over why she did it in the first place. Many people also left comments telling Ramona that she needs to pay for the damage and truly apologize. Some even left comments on Dorinda’s social media pages telling her that she should sue Ramona over the damage.

In her blog post recapping the latest episode, Ramona explained that the light fixtures were lights that the show’s production team had put up. Ramona admitted that she was a bit rough with the fixtures but then added that a room can always use a new coat of paint.

“As far as the paint coming off in the corners of the room, that happened because when I went to go to sleep that night everyone was already asleep. My room was lit up like a football stadium at a night game, because the lights from filming were all still up. I know that in the past the crew uses double-sided tape to put them up, so I just pulled them down. I guess I was stronger than I thought! Therefore, yes, the paint came off the wall. A little freshening up with a new coat of paint never hurt a room!”

Ramona’s blog post caused even more people to bash her on social media. People thought that Ramona was dismissive of the damage that she caused and was just trying to blame it on the show’s production team rather than take any real responsibility.

Yet it seems that the damage done to Dorinda’s room has been resolved. In an interview with Jenny McCarthy on Thursday morning, Ramona revealed that the show’s production team paid for the room to be re-painted via an insurance policy.

“After that horrible fight with Bethenny…it’s now 2 o’clock in the morning I go up to the bedroom and the lights are like blaring and I’m like, ‘What do I do?’ And they stick them up with double-faced tape so I just take them down. And obviously I’m a little stronger than I thought, a little more upset than I thought, and some of the paint came off. So of course the production company has a huge insurance policy. They put it back to its, she had a free paint job let’s put it that way. But of course it’s upsetting because no one wants their house damaged. But the good news is, production fixed it. They paid for it. The entire room got painted like new.”

Ramona Singer added that the Real Housewives of New York City production crew had already left and that she didn’t see any outlets. She claimed that she did apologize to Dorinda Medley, although she didn’t specify exactly when she apologized. Ramona also admitted that she had been drinking all day prior to her fight with Bethenny Frankel and probably would have not gotten into such a heated argument with her had she not been drinking so much.

In a confessional interview for The Real Housewives of New York City regarding the damage, Dorinda talked about what Ramona did and why it was so upsetting. Tearing up towards the end, Dorinda, referencing the passing of her husband Richard after only a few years of marriage, explained just how much her Berkshires home means to her.

“Overall the Berkshires weekend was a Berkshires weekend. But the thing that surprised me the most is the aftermath. I walked into Ramona’s room and it was trashed. Ramona decided to just rip these light fixtures off the wall. It created a lot of damage. And I love my apartment in the city but the Berkshires is really my home and it’s a legacy and it’s something I hold very proud. When I walked into that room and saw what she did, I wanted to cry. It was not even about the paintwork, it was like, you know this is my home. I love my home and enough has been taken from me. Now you’re gonna do this to my home?”

Dorinda further expressed her disappointment that Ramona didn’t even apologize for the damage before she left the Berkshires. Dorinda even questioned her friendship with Ramona.

“I didn’t even get so much as an acknowledgement. She left, bed unmade, same old thing, as if all is well. Nothing!”

Photos of the damage that Ramona did to Dorinda’s room after her big fight with Bethenny Frankel was shown, showing that big patches of paint were peeled off of the pale blue walls.

Yet it does seem that Dorinda Medley and Ramona Singer really have patched it up despite what Ramona did in the Berkshires. In early May, Dorinda posted a photo of herself having fun with Ramona while doing press for The Real Housewives of New York City.
