Ariel Winter Calls Mom A ‘Toxic’ Liar After Estranged Parent Slut-Shames ‘Modern Family’ Actress
Ariel Winter called Chrystal Workman a “toxic” liar after her estranged mother slut-shamed the Modern Family star in social media comments and to the press.
Estranged mother “consistently lies”
Ariel Winter’s mother, Chrystal Workman, said some pretty harsh things about her daughter in comments on her Instagram photos and to In Touch Weekly last week.
The Modern Family star’s mother slammed the 19-year-old, saying she needed to “grow up” and “dress properly.”
Ariel Winter took to Twitter to respond to her mother’s hurtful comments but never actually mentioned her name, saying that it was “sad” that her mother had to “lie consistently” and chose to only speak to her “through the press,” Daily Mail reported.
She finished the tweet by saying that she was doing fine, put a picture of a “stop” symbol emoji, and wrote, “Toxic.”
Workman also told the press that she felt “sad” that her daughter felt the “need to expose herself” when it wasn’t “necessary.”
Ariel also uploaded an Instagram photo with a drawing of a woman’s legs in a skirt labeled “prude” at the calf and “slut” near the top of the thigh.
The actress captioned the photo saying that your body is yours and tweeted the same image out to her fans and followers.

The teen’s mother did mention that she thought her daughter was “beautiful” and “talented” but only with her “clothes on.”
What’s sad is that you lie consistently. Also, why is it that you only choose to talk to me through the press? I’m doing just fine.????Toxic.

Unapologetically wearing what she wants
The Modern Family star has been known to show off her figure in skimpy bikinis and daring cut-out dresses ever since having a breast reduction in 2015.
The small-figured teen went from a size F to a size D and has credited the surgery to giving her more self-confidence with her body.
Ariel became emancipated from her mother in 2015 after she accused Workman of abusing her physically and emotionally. The actress also said that Chrystal tried to “sexualize” her at a young age.

The Modern Family star began her acting career in 2005 when she was 7, landing a role on the TV show Listen Up.
These new comments from Winter’s mother make it clear that the two are not going to make up anytime soon.
The 19-year-old’s racy Instagram photos on Memorial Day Weekend showed her in a revealing thong bikini along with her 29-year-old boyfriend on a trip to Vancouver.

Bullied for her body
Back in October, Ariel revealed that she had been called “every name in the book” by trolls online who have tried to body-shame her for years, saying she was “fat, a slut, trashy, ugly.”
“Right after I started developing, I automatically started getting all this hate. I developed these boobs and a butt, and everything changed. And as I got older, it only seemed to get worse.”

In the past, Winter has pointed out her sister Shanelle Workman — whom she moved in with at just 14 — with helping her confidence blossom as well as her Modern Family costar Sofia Vergara.
“I read a lot of the stories young women will send me about their body positivity and their body journeys, and that really helps me.
“There are a lot of young women who are going through the same thing that I went through, and I think it’s important that we all empower each other. It makes it easier.”
