‘Outlander’ Isn’t Nominated For Any Emmys, And Here’s Why

Many fans of the hit Starz show Outlander are extremely upset that the show isn’t nominated for any Emmy awards this year. There is, however, a good reason for the show not being nominated, though it doesn’t make the pain of the fact that they haven’t been nominated any easier.

But let’s take a look at the reasons Outlander isn’t going to be part of the Emmy’s celebration.

According to Gold Derby, the eligibility period for the Emmy Awards this year ended on May 31, 2017. Since Outlander didn’t show any episodes of their latest season before that time, they aren’t eligible for nomination.

“Starz has announced that the hit fantasy series will premiere its third season in September 2017, so it will definitely be back for the 2018 Emmys. Season 3 of “Outlander” will consist of 13 episodes based on “Voyager,” the third novel in Diana Gabaldon’s eight-book series. The story will pick up right after Claire (Caitriona Balfe) returns to 1948 pregnant with Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) child. Her sudden return to the 20th century will have consequences for her marriage to Frank (Tobias Menzies). Meanwhile, Jamie endures the aftermath of the battle of Culloden, and the two time-separated lovers try to make a life without each other.”

Meanwhile, according to Hollywood Life, in the third season of Outlander, we’ll be seeing a much older version of Jamie and Claire (played by Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, respectively). The events of the third season are based on the book, Voyager, by Diana Gabaldon, and they take place twenty years after the events of the second season, which was based on the book, Dragonfly in Amber.

So, how do an older version of Jamie and Claire look to fans?

“The show’s official Twitter page posted a video of Sam and Caitriona on June 1 giving us 3 reasons to look forward to the new season. We’ll get to their reasons in a hot minute, but let’s talk about the pair’s looks. Caitriona’s Claire looks noticeably older with her gray roots. She’s rocking much more gray than she did in the season 2 finale. Sam’s Jamie has much lighter red hair than we’ve ever seen on him before. Besides the hair, Claire and Jamie look pretty much the same, despite the fact that they’re much older.”

Finally, according to the International Business Times, many spoilers are abounding for the third season of Outlander, which is set to air in September on Starz. The biggest thing that the outlet talked about was what we could expect from “turtle soup, coconuts, and print shops.” Now, most of us already know that the “print shop” is where Jamie and Claire have their long-awaited reunion after she went back through the stones. But what does the rest of it mean?

“Soon after her arrival, both Jamie and Claire set out on a new adventure. One of the most interesting scenes many fans look forward to is the one with the turtle soup. There is a chapter in “Voyager” with the same title, and it shows the Scotsman feeding the soup to his sick wife. The dish apparently has an interesting effect on her because the two go on to make love soon after. Jamie is hesitant at first, but things proceed nicely after Claire takes control of the situation.”

Outlander is finishing up the filming of their third season in South Africa.
