This April 1972 hit was written and performed by Bill Withers and is one of the premiere friendship songs. The lyrics remind us that when we have weak times in our lives, it is our best friends who help pull us through. If you’ve been through a rough time or your best friend has this is the perfect song to solidify your support for each other.
“You’ve Got a Friend” Carole King or James Taylor
