DOOL spoilers are ahead. Do not continue reading unless you want to know what will happen on the long-running soap opera.

According to Arianne Zucker’s blog, she revealed that she is taping her final scenes as Nicole Walker next week. That puts her exit from Salem on television screens around Thanksgiving. There were rumors that she extended her contract to finish out Nicole’s storyline, but fans were hoping she would stay until the end of the year. It turns out that is not happening and the actress wrote that she is looking forward to her future.

“I will be taping my last few episodes at Days of Our Lives next week and then my adventure really begins. I am excited to see what kind of light shines my way.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the DOOL actress discussed her leaving the NBC soap opera. It’s hard to imagine Salem without Nicole, but it is happening and nobody can change Zucker’s mind. When Ron Carlivati was hired as the new head writer, viewers hoped that would tempt her to stay on the long-running series. However, Arianne told Soap Central in an interview that she has been planning on leaving for two years. She explained that it is simply time for her to go and do new things.

“As a career woman, you have to take risks. You have to do things that you feel are right in your heart. And as much temptation as there was to stay, I made a decision for me, and I like to stick to my plans. I know plans are meant to change, so I’m open to that, but I have a direction I want to go in, and I’m building that. So as much as I wanted to stay and see what Ron had to write, I also wanted to stick to my heart and my goal and my dreams.”

In a previous interview with Soap Central, Arianne Zucker said she was not conflicted about leaving Days Of Our Lives like some people assume. She had been planning this for quite some time, and as a result of being on DOOL, she missed out on other career opportunities.

“No, actually, I didn’t wrestle with it! I made the decision two years ago, so I think it was more of a shock for everybody else than it was for me. I had a plan, but it was nobody else’s business except my own to let people know. So I let the show know in November, and they tried to keep me, to see if we could work something out. But I ended up booking other work, so it’s really tough for the show to be able to schedule around and for me to be able to commit to them. It’s kind of unfair to me. So that was my plan, and the way it worked out for me was kind of cool.”

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the Days Of Our Lives actress talked about her decision to leave the NBC soap opera. When asked if Nicole’s storylines were a factor, she confirmed that it played a role in her decision. The actress has been paying attention to what fans have been saying about her character. Just like viewers are disappointed with how the writers portray Nicole Walker, Zucker was also disappointed.

“Yes, I would say a little bit. It did factor in, not having a full-blown story. I think that I’ve had some great stories, don’t get me wrong, for sure. I think listening to the fans, too, and their disappointment over how this character has been written and pushed aside and slapped around, you try not to take things personally, but it’s hard not to.”

It isn’t yet known how Nicole Walker will be written out of the soap opera or if the part will be recast. However, one thing is for sure, fans are sure going to miss Arianne Zucker on Days Of Our Lives.
