Is ‘Teen Mom OG’ Maci Bookout’s Ex Ryan Edwards’ Drug Abuse Causing Problems With Taylor McKinney?

The stars of Teen Mom OG aren’t afraid of a little drama, but nothing compares to what goes down during the reunion. Production for the Season 6 reunion just wrapped and it sounds like Maci Bookout got more emotional than ever about Ryan Edwards’ drug addiction.

An insider told OK Magazine that Edwards’ drug problem took center stage during the Teen Mom OG reunion special. The source claims that Bookout got “very emotional” when discussing her ex-boyfriend’s drug habit, a topic she recently dished during the cast trip to Puerto Rico.

“She had strong feelings. She wants the best for Ryan. She wants him to be healed, happy and healthy,” the insider stated.

According to OK Magazine, Edwards recently checked himself into rehab. The news comes after Bookout confirmed his drug problems on Teen Mom OG following years of fan speculation. Fans first noticed that something was off last season when Edwards appeared high and out of it on several episodes. This season, a tearful Bookout finally admitted that she worries Edwards might eventually kill himself from an accidental overdose.

“Every night, and I have to talk to Taylor [McKinney] about it, wonder if today is going to be the day that Ryan does something he can’t come back from,” she stated.

Bookout added that Edwards’ family is getting in the way of his recovery. She claimed that they are in complete denial of his habit and are afraid of how a stint in rehab might affect his public image. After Bookout’s shocking comments, Edwards’ fiancée, Mackenzie Standifer, hit back on social media and asked for support instead of criticism.

While Edwards deals with his drug problems, People is reporting that Bookout is having some marital issues of her own. Bookout and McKinney haven’t been married a year yet and the two already need counseling because they fight too much.

“Obviously, having three kids is catching up to us,” Bookout admitted on Teen Mom OG. “Eighty-five percent of the time, we’re good to go. The rest of the 15 percent, it’s hell. It’s like all of our stress and emotion and everything … we take it out on each other.”

Maci Bookout tied the knot in October of last year. The two have two kids together — Jayde and Maverick — and are raising her eight-year-old son, Bentley, whom she shares with Edwards. Although their marriage seemed perfect in front of the cameras, Bookout revealed that things are different behind the scenes.

“When the cameras leave, we’ll drink and freak out,” she explained. “It’s always like, literally, the smallest things.”

Their biggest problem is communication, something they hope therapy will help resolve. While Bookout believes they should complement each other more often, she isn’t the type of person that needs constant affection.

“To be honest with you, he could go the rest of our lives and never tell me ‘thank you’ or ‘you’re awesome,'” she stated. “Just grab my ass every now and then and give me a kiss.”

Bookout has not commented on the emotional reunion or whether or not Edwards is currently in rehab. In addition to Bookout’s drama, fans will watch Farrah Abraham confront her mom, Debra, during the reunion. Further, Amber Portwood will discuss the status of her romance with Matt Baier and why they ultimately decided to pull the plug on the wedding plans. No word yet on whether Edwards will make an appearance during the season’s final episode.

Fans can watch new episodes of Teen Mom OG Monday nights on MTV. The Season 6 reunion is expected to kick off later this month.
