Michael Weatherly Confirms Reunion Talks With Cote De Pablo After ‘NCIS’

Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo may soon reunite on the small screens following their successful portrayal of their respective roles, Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, on the CBS drama NCIS. While these two stars have already left the show, it looks like negotiations are on the way to have Weatherly and de Pablo back together. Will they reunite on NCIS or Bull?

Michael Weatherly has confirmed in a recent interview with The Wrap that there are ongoing talks to have a reunion with his former NCIS co-star, Cote de Pablo. In the said interview, the 48-year-old actor said that he always tries to listen to what fans want to see from him and his new show, Bull, which is entering its second season.

“I think Bull Season 2 is going to be ripe to be re-reviewed. I think it’s a show that has won many fans but I think it’s going to win many more,” he said.

Weatherly’s statement created a bit of confusion among fans, however, as several viewers thought that the said reunion with de Pablo will take place on NCIS. Since Weatherly was talking about his role on Bull and the show’s plans of doing a crossover between both dramas, it is safe to say that the reunion will take place on his new show on CBS.

It has been over a year since Weatherly left NCIS to star on Bull, but his character, Tony DiNozzo, left the team in such a way that makes it possible for him to return anytime he can. It can be recalled that Tony decided to leave the team after discovering that he and Ziva had a daughter named Tali. It might have been a difficult decision for him, but he wanted to focus on his relationship with Tali.

Weatherly told E! News that he was quite pleased with the way things ended for Tony on NCIS. The actor shared that the Season 13 finale gave fans a satisfying conclusion and that he is ready to move on to a new chapter in his life.

“I think we gave [fans] a very satisfying emotional journey, and it was very emotional for me,” said Weatherly.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Tony and Ziva, aptly called by fans as Tiva, were expected to get their happy ending in the Season 13 finale titled “Family First.” Weatherly teased on a possible appearance from de Pablo on NCIS, which led to speculations that Tony and Ziva will go on to live their happily ever after with their daughter.

“I think the audience will feel very strongly that she’s in the episode in a way that might be a little Shakespearean but it’s real, and I think it’s going to be a very exciting time for fans of that relationship,” Weatherly teased.

The anticipation among fans, however, was met with disappointment after watching the NCIS Season 13 finale. In the end, de Pablo did not appear in the said episode and Tony realized that Ziva was already dead. There were indications, though, that Ziva may still be alive since Ducky told Tony that Ziva’s remains could not be found, which leaves an opportunity for the highly anticipated Tiva reunion on NCIS to happen, if not on Bull, anytime soon.

Former showrunner Gary Glasberg gave fans a glimmer of hope that Ziva is still alive on NCIS. In an earlier interview with TV Line, Glasberg said that fans should hold on to Tony’s closing statement on the show.

“You gotta believe what you gotta believe.”

Do you think Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo should reunite on NCIS? Or do you think it would be better if they had the reunion on Weatherly’s new show, Bull?
