‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ava Jerome Will Survive, Maura West Not Exiting ‘GH’

Maura West quickly made herself at home on General Hospital as Ava Jerome. She was introduced as one of the heirs to the Jerome legacy from the 80s in Port Charles. Her daughter, Kiki (Hayley Erin), was tied to Morgan Corinthos (formerly Bryan Craig), which wasn’t good news for Ava at all. As the storyline progressed, she managed to weave herself into the town by having a child with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and teaming up with her brother, Julian (William deVry). Now, Ava has found herself in the burn unit at General Hospital fighting for her life.

There have been some questions regarding the status of Maura West in the role of Ava Jerome. Rumors have been circulating that two key players from General Hospital could be exiting the show, with Ava being one of them. Considering the condition she is currently in, it isn’t hard to see how fans drew that conclusion. According to ABC Soaps in Depth, Maura West will not be leaving General Hospital. She is going to remain on the show and in the role of Ava Jerome. This new information gives life to the reports that Ava would be paired with Griffin (Matt Cohen). Fans have been wondering how this would work, but Friday’s show revealed that he was the doctor who will be taking care of her as she recovers from being badly burned in the fire she caused at the warehouse.

Discussions about what will happen to Ava Jerome have been running rampant through various groups on social media dedicated to General Hospital. What happened with Morgan’s death had been drug out forever, and it has finally come to an end. Kiki is aware of the role her mother played in her boyfriend’s death, and now she is going to disown her during her time of need. Spoilers allude to the fact that Monica (Leslie Charleson) will be prepping the young girl to watch her mother die, but that is not the case. Ava will be healed as Griffin takes care of her. Underneath the dirty deeds and horrendous burns, a relationship between the two will be formed, and their friendship will turn romantic once Ava gets back on her feet.

Emmy talk has been happening about the confrontation between Ava and Sonny and Carly (Laura Wright). The scenes were raw, especially when it came to Maura West and Laura Wright battling it out. They are arguably two of the strongest women in daytime television, and their battle as mama bears was enough to make everyone think twice about the motives behind what Ava did. She was concerned for Kiki and did not intend for Morgan to end up dead; she only wanted him to have a minor setback in order to spare her daughter. While her intentions may have been understandable, the outcome wreaked havoc on her life.

Absolutely heartbreaking… how is Kiki even supposed to process all of this information? #GH #GeneralHospital

As this storyline progresses and Ava is paired with Griffin, there is going to be plenty of fallout from the decisions made months and months ago. General Hospital spoilers say that Kiki is going to lash out at Dillon (Robert Palmer Watkins), but the details were not given. Fans are wondering if she is going to blame herself and her attraction to Dillon for what happened to Morgan. The guilt is weighing heavily on her, and she is all about lashing out when she is in pain. After all, she is Ava’s daughter. The next few weeks on General Hospital will give a glimpse into where things are headed for Ava and Griffin and with Dillon and Kiki. As the storylines change from May sweeps and prepare to entice the summer viewers, there is going to be a lot happening.
