Heather Dubrow’s Career After ‘RHOC’ Exit

Early this morning, Bravo dropped the promo photo and preview for Season 12 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. The preview shows that returning from last season are Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador, Meghan King Edmonds, and Kelly Dodd. Also starring on the upcoming season are Lydia McLaughlin, who starred on the show’s Season 8, and newcomer Peggy Sulahian, a friend of Lydia’s. One person notably absent from the promo photo and preview is Heather Dubrow. While Heather announced her decision to leave the show early this year, many of her fans apparently didn’t get the memo, as some of them left comments on social media expressing their disappointment over Heather’s departure and wondering why she left.

In January, Heather, who starred on the show starting from Season 7, confirmed to Bravo’s The Daily Dish that she won’t be returning for the next season. She made it clear that the decision to leave the show was hers and that she has been told that she has the option of returning. As for why she made the decision to leave, Heather would only say that she has decided to go in another direction and do what’s best for her family and career at this point in her life.

“After a lot of careful thought and deliberation, I have decided not to return to RHOC this season. These past 5 years have been an incredible journey and I’m so proud to have been a part of such an iconic piece of pop culture. I am so grateful to Evolution Media, Bravo and the whole NBCU family for all of the incredible experiences and the opportunities RHOC has afforded me and my family. However, at this point in my life, I have decided to go in another direction and do what’s best for my family and career. Should I change my mind, I thank Andy Cohen, Evolution and Bravo for telling me that the door is always open.”

Yet it has been claimed that Heather didn’t exactly leave the show willingly. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, The Dirty reported that Heather left the show because producers, finding her story line too stale, would only give her a recurring role on Season 12. Kelly Dodd later confirmed the report.

So what is Heather Dubrow doing now? She has a YouTube show, Heather’s Closet, where she talks about fashion and life, sometimes with guests, from inside her humongous closet. The series also has her providing fans with a peek of what’s hidden inside her closet and the chance to win items from her closet. The latest episode, posted on Friday, shows her talking about the return of hats and visors.

Besides the YouTube show, Heather has her podcasts Heather Dubrow’s World, in which she and guests discuss what’s going on in her life and wide range of topics, and Dr. And Mrs. Guinea Pig with Heather and Terry Dubrow, in which she and her plastic surgeon husband Terry discuss the latest plastic surgery and health trends and news.

Heather also has a new video series with Evite.com, Celebrate with Heather Dubrow, in which she gives tips and advice on how to throw great parties.

As if that’s not enough, Heather and Terry have a skincare line on Evine called Consult Beaute, which just celebrated its second anniversary, and a new diet supplement line called Consult Health. Terry, who frequently appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County alongside Heather, still stars on his own reality TV show, E!’s Botched.

Heather is also still acting, with her latest role being a guest spot on Freeform’s Young and Hungry.

Unfortunately for Heather’s fans, her departure from The Real Housewives of Orange County means that they won’t get to see in detail on the show her new mansion that she and Terry built from the ground up. Nicknamed Château Dubrow, the house was still a work in progress last season. After years of building, Heather and her family finally moved in last fall. Heather has, however, provided fans with glimpses of her new abode via her closet YouTube series and Instagram account.

In August, 2016, Architectural Digest compiled some of Heather Dubrow’s Instagram photos of hew new home in Orange County’s Newport Coast. Some of the more over-the-top features of the home include several water fountains lining the entrance, an entire wall reserved for Veuve Clicquot in the kitchen, and a movie theater big enough to fit more than a dozen people.
