Ryan Edwards’ Wife Mackenzie Standifer Feuds With His Ex Amid Drug Rehab And Wedding Reports
As Ryan Edwards allegedly treated an addiction to drugs, his wife Mackenzie Standifer and ex-girlfriend Maci Bookout reunited with their Teen Mom OG co-stars to film the Season 6B reunion special in New York City.
After traveling to the Big Apple from their hometowns in Tennessee, the two women were reportedly brought face-to-face to address the ongoing struggles of Ryan Edwards.
On June 4, E! News revealed details of from the taping, confirming that longtime reunion host Dr. Drew Pinsky questioned the ladies about Ryan Edwards’ reported struggles with substance abuse and his recent decision to enter a treatment center.
As fans may recall, Ryan Edwards’ rumored drug use has been spotlighted on Teen Mom OG for the past few weeks and earlier this week, a separate E! News report claimed Edwards had been in rehab for the past two weeks. Around the same time, an In Touch Weekly magazine report confirmed Ryan Edwards had quietly married Mackenzie Standifer in Tennessee before entering treatment.
In the past, Mackenzie Standifer has gotten along with Maci Bookout, the mother of Ryan Edwards’ 8-year-old son, but throughout the last few episodes of the show, things between them have grown strained and during the reunion, they reportedly went “back and forth” with one another.
According to the E! News report, Ryan Edwards’ reported stint in rehab was a “big topic” during the reunion taping and throughout filming, both Standifer and Bookout discussed Edwards’ struggles and their fears for the reality dad’s life.
“There was back and forth between Maci and Mackenzie, but no yelling or anything like that. They talked about [Ryan Edwards] and his drug issues. Ryan is in rehab and has been in there about two weeks,” said a source. “They also said he’s doing well.”
Ryan Edwards first faced allegations of being on drugs at the end of last year when episodes of Teen Mom OG Season 6A appeared to show him acting aloof and appearing to be bug-eyed.
Although Ryan Edwards’ wife and ex-girlfriend did say that they played a role in convincing Edwards to seek treatment for his alleged addiction struggles, they also noted that the decision was ultimately left up to him.
“During the reunion, a clip was played of [Ryan Edwards] heading into rehab. The women both said that they’d heard from him since he checked in,” E! News confirmed.
While Ryan Edwards’ fiancée used to be quite active with her fans on Instagram and Twitter, she hasn’t said a thing on Twitter since news broke of Ryan Edwards’ alleged stint in treatment and recently made both of her accounts private. As for Bookout, she’s been fairly silent in recent weeks as well and the majority of her Twitter feed is focused on football and her clothing line, Things That Matter, not her ex-boyfriend and his struggles.
At the end of last year, when rumors of drug use first started to swirl, Ryan Edwards quickly shut down the reports and the rumors eventually died down. Then, when the reports resurfaced earlier this year, Edwards stayed completely silent about his rumored struggles and failed to share any new tweets or Instagram posts with his many fans and followers online.
Prior to Ryan Edwards’ alleged stint in rehab, Mackenzie Standifer posted a tweet to fans asking for their prayers.
