Angelina Jolie: Life After Brad, How Star Is Moving Forward And How She Misses Her Late Mother

It’s been a difficult path lately for Angelina Jolie and her former husband, actor and Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt. The two became embroiled in a bit of a nasty custody battle that began last September after Jolie announced she would be filing for divorce and seeking full custody of their six children.

It had reportedly been a rocky road for months leading up to the September 19th announcement by the UN special envoy, and it was an incident on a private jet, when Brad was intoxicated and supposedly verbally aggressive with their 15-year-old son Maddox, that led Jolie to finally end things.

An FBI investigation was launched against Pitt for child abuse, for which the star was quickly cleared. Since this point, things have calmed, and the two are said to be working to be there for their children, despite Jolie having won full custody.

In the early stages of the split, Jolie was viewed more negatively due to the very public announcement which blindsided Pitt, and due to the launched investigation. However, the beauty spoke with Good Morning America and BBC months later, during which she shared about the struggle they were facing, and that they would always be a family.

The Cut relays the words of Jolie during her BBC interview a few months back.

“We are a family and we will always be a family, and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it. Everything I do, I hope, is that I represent something and I represent the right things to my children and give the right sense of what they’re capable of and … the world as it should be seen. Not through the prism of Hollywood or through a certain kind of life, but really take them into the world where they have a really good sense and become grounded people.”

Brad has also recently spoken out about the trying time and has shared that Angelina is only “human” and that he is doing just fine, despite rumors of eating disorders and depression.

Recently the former A-list couple has reached an agreement, and things are finalized in their divorce and custody proceedings. Angelina has, as stated, been granted full custody of the children and has just purchased a $25 million property for her and the children to move into within upcoming months.

Harper’s Bazaar shares the details about the new digs the crew will soon call home, after reportedly being in a rental since the split last fall.

“Last month…Angelina Jolie had put in an offer on a Beaux Arts-style estate in Los Feliz, Los Angeles, and according to WWD the offer has now been accepted. The six-bedroom, ten-bathroom property, which was once owned by legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, is located in the gated Laughlin Park development, where the likes of Kristen Stewart and Natalie Portman already own homes.”

As for the star’s love life, there had been rumors swirling that Jolie was already involved seriously with a mystery man, yet such claims have been laid to rest and said to be false. Recently, however, Brad has found himself once again the subject of love rumors.

It’s been stated that Pitt is now involved with a new woman and that Jolie is still picking up the pieces while trying to care for her kids and move forward. The said romance that Pitt may be involved in has yet to be verified, but Jolie has spoken out about the tough times she’s experiencing and about how she misses her late mother now more than ever.

The National Post shares the words of Angelina Jolie regarding needing her mom and missing her guidance.

“I know how much she would have contributed to their lives and I am sad they will miss out on that. I would give anything for her to be with me at this time. I’ve needed her. I talk to her often in my mind and try to think what she might say and how she might guide me.”
