Olivia Newton-John’s Daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, Quits Instagram Over Cruel Comments About Her Mom’s Cancer
Chloe Lattanzi has quit Instagram over “incredibly insensitive a**holes” who flooded her account with cruel comments about her mom Olivia Newton-John’s cancer diagnosis.
Chloe Lattanzi fired off a series of Instagram posts to announce she was quitting Instagram after facing backlash from some of her followers for posting a photo of herself smiling.
The cruel commenters lambasted Chloe Lattanzi for enjoying her life as her mother Olivia Newton-John battles breast cancer, the diagnosis of which the singer revealed earlier this week.
In two of her final posts on her private Instagram account, Chloe Lattanzi lashed out at the critics calling them “incredibly insensitive a**holes” who are trying to make her “feel ashamed of trying to feel normal,” according to People magazine.
Her mother Olivia Newton-John, 68-years-old, had to put her U.S. and Canadian tour on hold. The singer broke the news on Tuesday on Facebook revealing that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer that has metastasized to the sacrum.
Olivia Newton-John’s breast cancer returned after the singer battled the disease back in the early 90s by using chemotherapy and a mastectomy.
After Olivia Newton-John’s devastating announcement, her 31-year-old daughter Chloe Lattanzi took to social media to pay tribute to her mom and reveal that the singer would be using natural remedies and cannabis as a form of treatment, according to The Fix.
Announcing that she was fed up with negative comments about her mom’s cancer diagnosis, Chloe Lattanzi said she was “so sad” and stressed that “no one has any idea what I am going through.”
Olivia Newton-John’s daughter, a vocal supporter of medical marijuana who owns a weed farm with her fiancé James Driskill, criticized one unnamed woman in particular, who she says “commented that I couldn’t post happy pictures of myself” because of her mom’s cancer diagnosis.
Chloe Lattanzi insisted that even though her mom Olivia Newton-John is battling cancer, she wants to be able to “distract” herself and “post normal creative pics on my Instagram.”

The negative feedback on her Instagram page prompted Chloe Lattanzi to quit the social media platform “for a while.” But the 31-year-old daughter of Olivia Newton-John and her first husband actor Matt Lattanzi insists that she does this not because she’s “ashamed” of posting the photos of herself smiling, but because she’s “angry.”
“Angry that there are such incredibly insensitive a**holes out there making me feel ashamed of trying to feel normal. Good bye for a while.”

In her second Instagram post announcing the decision, Chloe Lattanzi took a less negative approach and gave an update on her mom Olivia Newton-John’s breast cancer.
Chloe Lattanzi said in a video that her mother is “fine,” “thriving and well,” and adding that “she’ll beat this in like 3 months!”

Despite being fed up with “incredibly insensitive a**holes” on Instagram, Chloe Lattanzi assured her followers that it would be “hard for me to stay off here because of all the support and love I get from you guys.”
“I’ll miss you. I’ll be back soon. Just wanted U to see my mamas great! And set your worries at ease. Much love your chloe rose.”
In the Facebook statement revealing that she has breast cancer, Olivia Newton-John said she would undergo “natural wellness therapies” as well as “a short course of photon radiation therapy.”

The singer also added that she is “confident” she would return to the stage to perform for her fans “later in the year.”
