‘Dancing With The Stars’ Weddings: Peta & Maks, Julianne & Brooks Have Same Wedding Date
Dancing with the Stars cast members Peta Murgatroyd, Maks Chmerkovskiy, and Julianne Hough will all be getting married this summer before Season 25 kicks off. According to the new issue of Life & Style Weekly currently available on newsstands, Peta and Maks are getting married on July 8 — the same day that Hough has chosen to wed her beau, Brooks Laich.
“It just so happened that Peta and Maks chose the same date,” a source told the publication.
Since Murgatroyd, Chmerkovskiy, and Hough have a lot of the same friends, this is going to make their respective guest lists a bit tricky.
It’s unclear which guests will attend which wedding or how the attendees will shake out, but the source told Life & Style Weekly that there has been some drama.
“You have to be either Team Hough or Team Peta and Maks. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes drama,” the source said.
And for those thinking that they could attend both weddings, that will be next to impossible. Peta and Maks are getting married in New York City while Julianna and Brooks will likely marry in Los Angeles, though this has not yet been confirmed.
“We have an amazing, amazing space on Long Island, Oheka [Castle]. It’s going to be great. We went there. It’s perfect. We’re going to have it for two days. They’re closing the whole hotel. It’s going to be unbelievable,” Maks told ABC News back in March.
“I remember when I was passing by this castle when I first immigrated, and [I said], ‘That’s where I want to have my wedding’ and I just said it so [casually,] and now it’s happening,” he added.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Hough and Laich wanted a smaller affair, keeping it to family and close friends, but their guest list was pretty substantial regardless.
“I have a really big family. Brooks has sort of a moderate-sized family, so regardless of how small we want it, it’s still going to be big,” Hough said.
It is presumed that Hough sent invitations to most (if not all) of her Dancing with the Stars family. Of course, Hough’s brother Derek will be attending her wedding, forced to miss out on Peta and Maks’ soiree. Likewise, Maks’ brother, Val Chmerkovskiy, will be attending Maks and Peta’s wedding. And it’s safe to say that Peta’s BFF, Sharna Burgess, will be attending her wedding (and may even be in it).
Other members of the Dancing with the Stars family include Emma Slater and her fiance Sasha Farber, Keo Motsepe, Kym Johnson, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, and Gleb Savchenko, to name a few.
Hough, Laich, Murgatroyd, and Chmerkovskiy have been planning their respective weddings for several months. Within the next two months, both couples will be married and will be enjoying their lives as newlyweds. Hopefully, the aforementioned drama melts away before the new season of Dancing with the Stars this fall.
Maks and Peta recently welcomed their first child, a son they named Shai. The two have been busy enjoying their son and posting regular updates on social media. They haven’t shared too much information about their wedding, which is set to be a three-day event in the Big Apple.
Meanwhile, Hough recently finished judging Dancing with the Stars and is in complete wedding mode. A few months ago, she talked about having some time to plan, but now it’s really crunch time!
