Sean Bean Replaces Brendan Fraser On ‘Legends’

Brendan Fraser was scheduled to star in a new TNT pilot for the show Legends but the actor left the show last month due to creative differences. The Mummy actor has now been replaced by Sean Bean.

Bean, who is best known for his work in the movie Lord Of the Rings, will play Martin Odum, an undercover agent who can transform into different characters. According to Screen Crush, the show will follow Odum as his “identity comes into question when a mysterious stranger suggests to the man that Martin isn’t quite who he thinks he is. ”

This isn’t Bean’s first role on American television. The British actor recently starred on the HBO hit Game of Thrones and has also starred in ABC’s short-lived Missing.

Cinema Blend notes that Bean’s casting may mark a change of direction in the new TNT show. Fraser and Bean are both known for their action roles but Fraser tends to infuse his roles with light-hearted comedy. Bean, on the other hand, is known as more of a dramatic actor.

Legends is being produced by Howard Gordon and Alexander Cary, the due behind TNT’s other hit show Homeland.
