WWE Rumors: Kurt Angle’s New Storyline Leading To His In-Ring Return Soon?

Kurt Angle is doing a great job as the general manager of Monday Night Raw in the absence of Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. However, many fans are still looking forward to Angle returning inside the ring during his second stint in the WWE. A segment involving Kurt and Corey Graves this past Monday on Raw point to a potential storyline that will end in Angle’s in-ring return.

As recapped by WWE.com, Graves left the announce table in the middle of Monday Night Raw after receiving an email that contains revealing information on Kurt Angle. The message called Angle a disgrace and an embarrassment to the WWE and it had the general manager worried. Graves told Angle that he showed the email as a heads up.

Many people are still looking to find out what the message said regarding Kurt Angle. It’s an obvious storyline for the general manager and it could be what Monday Night Raw needs at the moment since the ratings are not good. Fans have to watch next week’s episode to know what will happen next but in the meantime, they can just speculate on what the message contains.

According to Sportskeeda, the information given by Corey Graves to Kurt Angle can result in a number of different scenarios and storylines. One obvious storyline is the impending return of Stephanie McMahon, who has been out since WrestleMania 33 when she went through a table after getting knocked down by Triple H during his match with Seth Rollins.

Another scenario could be the return of Triple H, who also has not returned since losing to Rollins at WrestleMania 33. Triple H has a history with Kurt Angle and it could be a great, nostalgic story for the WWE to make heading to SummerSlam. Angle can still go in the ring but he has not been cleared by WWE doctors.

Finally, another storyline the WWE can use is the involvement of Vince McMahon, the man who put Kurt Angle in his current position after Mick Foley was fired. Angle also has a history with the WWE chairman but it’s highly unlikely that the 71-year-old billionaire will get physical in the ring.

On the other hand, Marc Middleton of Lords of Pain noted that there is one speculated reason for the new Kurt Angle storyline. Middleton noted that the WWE is ready to use Angle as a wrestler and the company might be preparing for his in-ring return very soon. Although this information has not been confirmed, it’s one of the likeliest scenarios given the low ratings of Monday Night Raw.

Many fans were excited to see Kurt Angle back in the WWE and they have been calling for one more match when he was announced as a 2017 Hall of Fame inductee back in January. Angle returned to WWE television at the Hall of Fame ceremony and WrestleMania 33. Kurt was then appointed as the general manager of Monday Night Raw on April 3.

The WWE have already teased a confrontation between Kurt Angle and a couple of WWE superstars. Angle came in face-to-face with Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt during his stint as general manager and he could potentially return to the ring if he gets the clearance from WWE doctors.

In an interview with Wrestling Inc, Kurt Angle revealed that he could return to the ring at the end of the year. Angle is one of the greatest wrestlers in history but his neck has undergone five surgeries and the WWE is worried that he might not last in the ring. However, Kurt remains adamant in wrestling again inside the WWE ring.

“I think that the general manager role is going to last a little while. I don’t think they want me to go any step further than that, but you do have to keep in mind that until I take the physical. I don’t know when it’s going to occur, but I’d say it’d most likely occur. But, I’d say probably near the end of the year is what I’m guessing and I really don’t know.”

It should be noted that these are just rumors at the moment. Please take it with a grain of salt since the WWE tends to change their plans on a regular basis. The WWE needs Kurt Angle at the moment and they could very well use him to salvage the plummeting ratings of Monday Night Raw.
