Jill Duggar Was Maid Of Honor In Joy-Anna’s Wedding, Gives Marriage Advice For ‘Counting On’ Sister

When Joy-Anna Duggar walked down the aisle last Friday to marry fiance Austin Forsyth, it was her sister Jill who stood by her as maid of honor. Counting On fans will have to wait a few more days to watch the entire wedding special to be aired on TLC for its Season 3 premiere this June 12. Fortunately, leaked photos and details about the latest Duggar wedding have been going around much to the delight of fans.

According to the fan site Duggar Family Blog, Jill acted as the maid of honor (or matron of honor, as she is already married) and gave her much-needed support to her younger sister on her big day. Jill wore a floor-length navy blue dress with white lace patches on the sleeves. The heavily pregnant Jill paired her outfit with flat sandals and kept her hair loose and natural for the occasion. She carried a loose bouquet of orange and white flowers–a similar floral arrangement as the bride’s.

Jill’s husband Derick Dillard posted a photo of Jill during the wedding ceremony. He wrote in the caption that for him, “the matron of honor was particularly nice.”

Based on the leaked photos, the rest of the Duggar sisters were also part of the entourage. Jana, Jessa, and Jinger were all wearing the same navy blue dress, which is probably the wedding’s color motif. Even the younger Duggar girls, who were possibly flower girls, wore the same color tone.

Jill also didn’t hesitate to dish out marital advice for Joy. Her number one tip is to just enjoy the experience of being a wife and love being with her husband’s company. The 26-year-old Duggar sister added that being married and living together is a really fun time and more practical in terms of logistics. She also had some advice for the groom, who she thinks is a very good and loving guy.

“When you don’t understand why she’s crying, that’s okay. Just rub her back or something.”

Other Counting On sisters also gave their messages to the new Mr. and Mrs. Austin Forsyth. Jessa Duggar, who got married in 2014, said that Joy will be a lot more distracted now that she’s a wife. She reminded her sister to enjoy the honeymoon and “take lots of pictures.”

Jinger, who married Jeremy Vuolo just last year, reminisced memories of her childhood with Joy.

“It’s so hard to believe that Joy is actually getting married. I still remember so many times when she was out there, running barefoot outside…We have to bring her in, get shoes on her, wash her face, fix her hair.”

Jill Duggar-Dillard is the first Counting On sister to get married in 2014. In 2015, they welcomed their first son, Israel. They are expecting another boy in about two months. She and husband Derick shuffle back and forth from Central America, where they work as missionaries.

Much talk has been made when Jill and Derick returned to the U.S. early this month, earlier than fans expected. The Counting On sisters have just filed a lawsuit against Arkansas officials and In Touch magazine, and many wondered if her arrival meant she was going to face their legal battle head-on. Jill, Jessa, Jinger and Joy-Anna are suing the City of Springdale and In Touch for releasing and publishing information regarding Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal two years ago.

Now it has been revealed that one of the reasons why Jill came home sooner than expected was because of her maid of honor duties. She will most definitely stay in the country until she gives birth to her second son this July.

Counting On Season 3 premieres on June 12.
