George Clooney Is Under A Self-Imposed Travel Ban: Does This Mean The Twins Are On Their Way?

George Clooney is about to become a father for the first time at the age of 56, and not to just one baby, but two. The twins will be arriving any day now, and this means that he will be spending time with his lovely wife, Amal, as he has put himself on a travel ban for the time being. He is staying right by his wife’s side to make sure that he does not miss out on the birth of his children.

Clooney did not make it to the annual Aurora Price for Awakening Humanity award ceremony in Yerevan, Armenia, over the weekend. What was he doing instead? According to E! News, the Oscar-winning actor is cherishing the last few days with Amal before the twins make their way into the world. He is being a smart and attentive husband as he made a joke in a video message about having a self-imposed travel ban because his wife would never forgive him if the babies arrived while he was away.

“I really would have been [in Yerevan] but if I came there and my wife had twins while I was there, I could never come home.”

Of course, this was not all Amal’s doing. It is a big deal for George Clooney becoming a father, and he definitely does not want to miss out on this exciting time in their lives. It didn’t appear that he would ever have kids, until he met and married Amal. The international human rights lawyer changed everything. She shook up Clooney’s world, and now they are making beautiful babies together.

This self-imposed travel ban sparked the rumor that the 39-year-old expectant mom was already in labor. However, that does not appear to be true. It is just a precaution since she is so close to her due date and twins can indeed arrive earlier than expected.

George Clooney is also a human rights activist and has been heavily involved in the humanitarian crisis in Africa. He is co-chair of the Aurora Prize Selection Committee and shares Amal’s heart for helping others. However, she is now on maternity leave, and the father-to-be has put his schedule on hold as they await the arrival of the twins.

While the exact due date has not been revealed, it is estimated to be the first part of June, which is very close now. Clooney is very smart to stay home and enjoy the next few days pampering his wife. The expectant parents are having a boy and a girl, which was not officially announced by them. George’s mother, Nina Clooney, had unexpectedly slipped the sexes of the babies in an interview. The cat was let out of the bag, but it didn’t seem to bother the couple all that much.

Now that George Clooney is becoming a first-time daddy to two babies, he is getting plenty of advice from his friends. The latest comes from Pretty Woman actress Julia Roberts. She was recently on The Ellen DeGeneres Show chatting about her good friend’s future fatherhood. She also has a set of twins, 12-year-old Hazel and Phinn, and according to Today, she doled out a bit of advice on having kids.

“You know, nobody’s there with you at 3 o’clock in the morning when you’re just going, ‘What am I doing? Where did they come from and when are they going? And then you sort of, you get through it and you figure it out and everybody does and it’s a trial and error and a whole lot of tears and it’s amazing.”

She then declared that George and Amal probably don’t need any advice from her or anyone else. She has no doubt that they will be wonderful parents. They are about to find out soon enough as the birth of their twins is quickly approaching.

While the world waits for word on the birth of these two already-famous babies, George and Amal Clooney are said to be nesting in their English home in a small town outside of London. Despite the fact that the actor is excited about his children’s arrival, he is said to also be understandably a little anxious. Here’s hoping for a quick and healthy birth for the Clooney twins!
