Where Was Melania Trump On Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2017? No Arlington National Cemetery Melania Photos

First Lady Melania Trump was notably not photographed at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29. As seen in the below photo, President Donald Trump was photographed singing during the national anthem, as Mr. Trump placed his hand on his heart.

Where Was Melania On Memorial Day While President Trump Appeared At Arlington National Cemetery?

Questions about Melania not appearing at Arlington National Cemetery are already appearing on Twitter. Folks on social media are placing side-by-side photos of Melania comparing her to former First Lady Michelle Obama, either praising one woman or the other for their Memorial Day appearances, or lack thereof, based on the person’s political bent. As of this writing, recent photos taken at Arlington National Cemetery in the Getty Images gallery of photos do not show Melania, nor do the photos in the Associated Press gallery of photos.

The most recent Associated Press photos of Melania show Mrs. Trump arriving back at the White House on May 27 from her daunting foreign travels with President Trump, so one could barely blame Melania for recovering from jet lag. Barron Trump hasn’t appeared in Associated Press photos nor Getty Images photos since the Easter Egg Roll on April 17, so perhaps Melania was enjoying time with Barron.

However, the absence of Melania on Memorial Day was noticed by people on Twitter, who commented that if Mrs. Trump was present for the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, May 29, in Arlington, Virginia, perhaps President Trump wouldn’t have been caught on video singing and swaying to the national anthem, as seen in the below video.

Titled “Sassy Trump Sings National Anthem on Memorial Day, Arlington,” the video has been overdubbed with a singing voice that imagines what President Trump may have been thinking and singing during the patriotic song.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press gallery of photos shows plenty of instances of Mrs. Obama at Arlington National Cemetery on past Memorial Day observances, and that disparity is being mentioned by some social media users.

For example, the above photo from May 27, 2013, shows former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama shaking hands and greeting people on Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. The description of the Associated Press photo noted that Mrs. Obama, a Harvard-trained lawyer, showed “a willingness to step outside of her comfort zone.”

Meanwhile, Mrs. Trump was photographed on Saturday, May 27, at the Sigonella Naval Air Station, in Sigonella, Italy, after introducing President Trump before he spoke to U.S. military troops and their families. Mr. Trump praised Melania and joked with the crowd about wiping off her lipstick after Melania kissed him.

Despite her recent travels abroad, Melania’s absence on Memorial Day 2017 caused comments like the following to flow into social media.

“Where’s Melania? Michelle Obama always accompanied her husband to this event at Arlington National Cemetery. .”

“Can someone tell me where Melania was today? I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure all FLOTUSes show up on Memorial Day.”

“Melania is probably in NY, washing the Donald stink off of her. Of course Barron is w/her. The others don’t give a s*** about Memorial Day.”

“Trump gave his Memorial Day remarks.. Of course no mention of killings of in MD and OR..did anyone see Melania?”

“Anyone notice Melania will travel abroad but can’t show up for Memorial Day recognition to our fallen soldiers?”

Where’s Melania on Memorial Day?”

“I guess Melania was too busy unpacking and doing laundry to accompany trump to honor Memorial Day at Arlington Cemetery. Busy, busy, busy…”
