‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Dylan Recast Is In The Works, ‘Y&R’ Insider Claims He’s Returning, Not Adam

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease Dylan McAvoy (formerly Steve Burton) is in the works and could appear on the show before the summer sweeps wrap up. A CBS insider claims that the actors that the Y&R fans believed were to read the part of Adam Newman (formerly Justin Hartley) were actually auditioning for the role of Dylan. Apparently, Sally Sussman, the Young and the Restless head writer, has no intention of bringing Adam back.

A few weeks ago, a slew of audition prospects made their way to the media. Many Young and the Restless fans speculated that one of the three men could be the next Adam. Now, a Young and the Restless insider claims that the actors never auditioned for the role of Adam, it was for the part of Dylan.

Dylan Recast Coming?

A few weeks ago, Jason Gerhardt, Jason-Shane Scott, and Demetri James auditioned for the Young and the Restless. At the time, the media suggested they were reading the part of Adam, since days before that, Jamey from Daytime Confidential, had said that Y&R was “actively looking” for the new face of Adam. His report is the only one that has said that Adan’s recast was a go. Previous to his release, Young and the Restless has stated that they were not in a hurry to bring him back. They added that it was unrealistic to bring him back after he’s died several times on the show.

The report that Dylan’s recast came a few days ago. Apparently, a Young and the Restless insider claimed that the show hadn’t changed their opinion on Adam, and the audition was not for Adam but Dylan. According to Soap Hub, Y&R has been considering to bring Dylan back for months. They always knew that they wanted him to return to be with his wife, Sharon (Sharon Case), but needed time to find the right actor.

Adam’s Staying Dead?

Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Adam may not return to the CBS soap opera. Many Y&R fans had hoped that the showrunners would bring Michael Muhney back as Adam, and have him wage war with his father, Victor (Eric Braeden). The Young and the Restless writers do not seem interested in bringing Adam back to the show and believes that the show is solid with him.

The fact is, the storylines in the series are heavily centered on Adam and what led to his death. They may not realize it yet, but they may need Adam’s return for an increase in ratings in the coming months. It looks like Young and the Restless has scrapped the possibility of Adam coming back and will be going full speed ahead with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) growing relationship.

Dylan Comes Home For Sharon?

According to Soap Central, Sharon will get a shocker in the next few weeks. She has been doing well since Dylan left. She decided to go back to school and has a strong friendship with Lauren’s son, Scotty (Daniel Hall). It looks like Young and the Restless is about to give Sharon another shocker —Dylan will show up claiming they can resume their life together.

How will Sharon feel about Dylan showing up out of the blue claiming they can resume their life together? Since his departure, she has changed her life. Does she still love him? These are all questions the Young and the Restless will have to answer when he returns to Genoa City.

Young and the Restless fans, do you think Adam will ever return to the soap opera? Are you glad that Dylan will be coming back to the series?

Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
