‘Attack On Titan’ Season 2 Spoilers: Three Scenes To Look Forward To In The Anime’s Final Act

Attack on Titan Season 2 is nearing its end, and needless to say, the anime so far has been a relentless ride from one insane stop to the next. With Eren being kidnapped by the defecting Reiner and Bertholdt and with the Scouting Legion putting everything on the line to retrieve him, the final few episodes of the anime would no doubt be even wilder than the past episodes in the season.

Fortunately, Attack on Titan Season 2 is following the manga extremely closely, to the point where the anime is practically a frame-by-frame adaptation of its source material, according to numerous fans in online forums such as Reddit. With this in mind, it would not be difficult to infer how the last episodes of the hit anime series would play out. Needless to say, things would definitely reach new heights, both in terms of intensity and sheer shock factor.

Here then, are three notable scenes that viewers could look forward to in the next few episodes of Attack on Titan Season 2. Do take note, there would be Titan-sized spoilers below.

Erwin’s Charge

Erwin Smith is probably the most daunting character in the entire Attack on Titan franchise, and that includes all the giants on the animated show. Calm, calculating, Machiavellian and insanely driven, Erwin is one man that very few characters in Attack on Titan could hold a candle to. His calm demeanor, however, would be put to the test when his team of pursuers would close in on the fleeing Reiner and Bertholdt. Unfortunately for Erwin, a particularly nasty giant would take a piece of him, seemingly ending his life.

Only it wouldn’t. With part of his body ripped, Erwin nonetheless would continue in his charge, rallying his troops behind him. Erwin’s charging scene has been considered as one of the most epic moments in the Attack on Titan franchise since the chapter was published in the manga a few years ago. With AoT Season 2’s frame-by-frame adaptation style, the iconic scene would no doubt be epic.

Armin Goes Dark

Armin has always been a little frightening, not because of his abilities as a fighter but simply because he is so darn smart. Though young, his mind could run along the same wavelengths as the most brilliant characters on the show, such as Hange. Even Erwin Smith himself recognized his abilities as a tactician, asking for Armin’s input when it comes to strategy-making. In the pursuit and retrieval of Eren, however, Armin would do something that he has never done before — he would use his mind to get inside his opponent, and he would so so in the cruelest way possible.

Bertholdt, the Colossal Titan, has always had feelings for Annie. Unfortunately for the Shifter, he would come face to face with Armin, who would describe to him, in very gruesome detail, how soldiers are torturing Annie day in and day out. Bert, of course, would be severely affected, and he would make a mistake that would allow Eren to finally escape. Of course, Armin would be completely lying about Annie’s torture, but it is still quite disturbing to know that the once gentle character is now willing to go really dark to get what he wants.

Eren Faces the Smiling Titan… With His Bare Fists

Possibly the most epic scene of the Clash of the Titans arc, Eren would be facing the Smiling Titan once more. Interestingly, the Smiling Titan is the very same giant that devoured his mother during the fall of Shiganshina all those years ago. With the creepy Titan facing him down, Eren would unlock a power that could very well turn the tide of the war against the man-eating giants — the Coordinate. Interestingly, Eren would be doing this without transforming, facing the giant with his bare fists.

The scene of Eren punching the Smiling Titan with his fist has become one of the most memorable scenes in the AoT manga so far. Thus, it would be quite interesting to see how the anime would depict such an important scene. Nevertheless, considering what Wit Studio has done so far with Attack on Titan Season 2, it appears safe to assume that the last few episodes of Season 2 would definitely be in good hands.
