Lindsay Lohan: ‘The Wanted’ Opens Up About Alleged NYC Brawl

Lindsay Lohan’s friends from The Wanted band tried to cheer her up after the alleged fight at a New York City nightclub. The supposed altercation between Lohan and Tiffany Ava Mitchell was allegedly about a band member. During an interview with MTV, The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness shared his views about what went down at the Avenue.

McGuiness cautioned LiLo watchers not to believe the hype about the punch allegedly thrown by the Liz & Dick star. After the chaos at the Manhattan bar, reports quickly began circulating that the physical alteration was about The Wanted band member Max George. McGuiness was at the Avenue when the tussle occurred and is not so sure that the story about the sequence of events has been accurately relayed. McGuiness had this to say about the alleged Lindsay Lohan fight:

“It’s a bit of a blur actually, but some sort of scuffle with a fortune teller. It was very odd. We actually carried on partying after that. It was reported that the fight was about Max, but I don’t think it actually was. But Lohan was a total sweetheart on the night, so our experience is quite positive.”

Jay McGuiness felt so strongly about showing his support for Lohan that he wore a “Free Lindsay” t-shirt when he opened for Justin Bieber’s Believe Tour at Madison Square Garden. The Wanted band member cracked open a Sharpie pen and designed a one-of-a-kind LiLo fashion statement. He also stated that a “small scuffle” occurred and that he felt sorry for the former Disney star and felt the t-shirt phrase would cheer her up.

Max George told MTV News that he does not really recall much of the Avenue incident and was happy if the band’s little pro-Lindsay campaign helped get her out of jail. Lohan is facing third-degree assault charges in NYC and facing an additional three charges related to a car crash in Santa Monica that happened in June. She heads back to court on January 7, according to the Business Recorder.
